Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i was planning to swap the seats in my boxster today but discovered the bolts holding the rails to the floor were unlike any i have seen. anyone know what these are called. anyone know where to buy the socket or tool i need? thanks jeff

POST 2Original post

Those are torx bolts. You can get sockets to fit them at Sears.

POST 5Original post

The New Caliper Bolts are now using this screw config. I had to use my old caliper bolts because I did not have a torex socket large enough. Its worth the investment.

LMAO!! your .gif is so funny I watched it for like 5 minutes laughing!! COOL!! Just an FYI - Torx bits are unique and excellent BUT in a pinch a regular HEX (allen) wrench WILL fit in the head and work... try it, you will be surprised but you need metric allen wrenches... Best is use Torx drivers, but like I said, emergency.... allen will work.

POST 7Original post

those are not torx fittings....Loren posted the correct nomenclature for that bolt head. You can get the whole dogone set of them at Harbor Frieght for the cost of just the E13 at Sears. They're more of a Star fitting.
