I used engine enamel from Duplicolor (same brand I used for the paint kit) and the first caliper I did, overspray definitely showed and dried as a clear drip.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Decided to do my calipers yesterday since it was raining all day in Minneapolis. The project went well, however since I could only lift 1 side of the car up at a time (from the rear jack point) it literally took me all day. I was up and at it around 8 or so in the morning and finished around 6-7 at night! Well worth it though, very pleased with the outcome. A few pointers for people looking to do this: 1. Give yourself a bit more time than you think! 2. Don't go overboard on the clear coat. I used engine enamel from Duplicolor (same brand I used for the paint kit) and the first caliper I did, overspray definitely showed and dried as a clear drip. I am a perfectionist so I had to re-do the caliper a bit, but it turned out ok. Just don't overspray and I recommend doing a few light coats over one or two heavy ones. Looking forward to presenting more pics of updated turbo bumper and side skirts, Fabspeed sport cats/mufflers, etc! Hopefully in the next week so my car will finally look the way I want it to!

Sit the rotor flat on the floor and it looks like a top hat. HE's talking about painting the portion between the rotor face and wheel.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ah, Gotcha - thanks for the explanation! That may be another day, or maybe another year
