Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

At first I was a little taken back by the cost, $62 and change (same as the 996 book) but now I know I could never live with out it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just got this in the mail yesterday. Wow. This is a pretty technically comprehensive book. I think reading this might help me get through the winter driving withdrawal!

+ 1. I like all of Adrian's book. I had written a review of it (excerpt below) and the 993 one on my site "My first exposure to Adrians work was during the research phase prior to purchasing my 1997 Porsche 993 C4S. Porsche 993 The Essential Companion was recommended to me by a friend. At first I was a little taken back by the cost, $62 and change (same as the 996 book) but now I know I could never live with out it. While not as complete as true shop manuals, both the 993 and the 996 companion books are workshop manual for those of us with only modest technical skill (which I believe covers the majority of us.)" I have the 911SC Guide in reserve in-case I get the bug for one of those.
