Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now that it's getting colder and the car will be able to see some downtime, I'm about to replace my coolant expansion tank (which hasn't leaked noticeably since my first post about it 6 months ago, but I figure I should either organize a class action suit or just roll up the sleeves and get it over with) While we've talked the replacement pretty much to death in other threads, I didn't see anyone ask so I will: What do you guys think about wrapping the new replacement tank in heat shield? I think there's enough clearance for a few mils of material, and I think it's probably flexible enough. I could also cut out a little window so I could still inspect the level. Ideas?

POST 2Original post

That sounds like a pro-active idea,--good thinking. I always applaud that sort of preventative maintenance.
