Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Besides RUF and Tech Art, are there any other options for Silver/Alum/Mag looking pedals? Just debating my options...

POST 2Original post

I bought some off a guy on e-bay, they are good quality and i think a very good value. I havent installed them yet, but they have a good web site for instructions..here is a link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...957589056&rd=1 Ok I installed them..

POST 3Original post

Got mine from Rennline. Great looking, great quality, great price. http://www.rennline.com

POST 4Original post

Check out Gert at Carnawal something like that he sells a Ruf look a like without the logos. Same pedals as Ruf from what I can tell. I paid around $300 including the dead pedal.

POST 5Original post

the best looking ones are the RUF ones carnewal is the same except cheaper/without logo

POST 6Original post

These are Carnewal's (Gert's) pedals that I just installed in my 997S (same as 996 pedals); I like them!

POST 7Original post

Got the same ones from Gert (like in Jim's pic. THey are really nice. Saved about 150 not getting the RuF logo on the accelerator pedal. They are made at the same factory as the RuF pedals and the difference is the price and the lack of the logo on 1 pedal. The RuF pedals used to have a logo on all pedals but now just one. I think Gert has them on super sale right now and free shipping since the Euro is kicking our Dollar in the dirt!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it a do-it-yourself installation process? What's involved in installing these?

POST 9Original post

Dead pedal and accelerator pedal go right over the existing pedals; drill a few holes and screw/bolt them on. For the brake and clutch pedals, pull off the existing covers, drill two holes on each, install with provided nuts/bolts. It does take some patience and you have to be a bit of a contortionist, but its not all that difficult and shouldn't take more than an hour.

POST 10Original post

I haven't actually bought them myself, but if I do, I would go for these rennlines

POST 11Original post

How are they with wet shoes that have smooth leather bottoms? Anyone know?

POST 12Original post

Go Rennline, outstanding value, 175. Good grip when wet, not an issue, easy heel toe.

POST 13Original post

Vosstek, advertised in Excellence are a good value and nice for heel and toe.

POST 14Original post

I have Cargraphic aluminum pedals in the 996TT. http://gallery.rennlist.com/gallery/jdII/P9110007 http://www.cargraphic.com/index.php?...715,1366,1384/

POST 15Original post

Installing: use a C-clamp to hold the pedal before you drill the holes, makes install much easier.

POST 16Original post

I just installed some RUF pedals on my 2003 C4S. They look great, but to be honest, I think I overpaid for them. $530 total. If the Carnewal's (Gert's) pedals are from the same manufacturer, I'd get those. I usually don't mind paying for the best for my car, but it was not worth it in this case. Besides, it took RUF almost a month to ship them to me, the directions are a joke. Can someone tell me why, after charging $500, RUF can't provide templates for marking the holes to drill? A job that could be done in 15 minutes takes over an hour and a half.

POST 17Original post

Agreed, some thing are just marked up too much, case in point with Ruf. At least my rennlines came with a template.

POST 18Original post

Rennlines look pretty good and a decent value. Anybody else have 'em? Maybe I'll try 'em for $175. Adam

POST 19Original post

Silly question, but are these just for looks or do they actually enhance the feel or quickness of the shifts? You would think the oem rubber pedals provide more grip, is that true?

POST 20Original post

They helped me alot with heel toe shifting FWIW. I think they are all about the same, have rennline, wrk well for me.

POST 21Original post

Thanks doc, I think i'll give the rennline a shot..

POST 22Original post

Just got mine in and it took about an hour to install.. Wow am I sore from bending like a pretzel.. Mine didn't come with templates.. Are you guys talking about the instructions? The pics in the instructions weren't true to size so they couldn't have been templates.. Did you guys drill new holes on the aluminum pedals or did you use the existing holes? THe screws are kind of short aren't they?

POST 23Original post

I had them in my 996 and like the grip of the base ones in the 997 much better, especially with work shoes on....

POST 25Original post

Try this site.......... http://www.ultimatepedals.com/ I was going to install my pedals today. Series driver Footrest, Brake,Clutch and Gas Pedal $207.00 with shipping. Nice quality, nice looking. Jim

POST 26Original post

Here is a pic of the Ultimate Pedals with all the options except heel & toe extensions on the gas pedal. They look great and have NO slip. We'll see how long they last.

POST 27Original post

I have no problem heel-toeing with the stock pedals, so I haven't used these, but here's another option: CarCrafter

POST 28Original post

Does anyone have opinions on the carcrafter pedal set-I like the look. Are they quality or not?

POST 29Original post

Well--I just bought the Carcrafter set--I just like the look--Did I make a mistake-Got em from Suncoast.

POST 30Original post

Are they installed yet? If not, after you put 'em on, let us know how securely they're held on....I'm skeptical due to the fact that you don't drill and screw them....I looked at their instructions, and they don't say anything about how you install the dead pedal......they look pretty good!!!!

POST 31Original post

I'll get them the end of the week and then i will post opinion and pic...Jeff

POST 32Original post

Nice! Sure looks a whole lot easier to install.. My back is still sore from last weeks install.. Or maybe it was from football this weekend..

POST 33Original post

Has anyone ever replaced the rubber dots in any of these pedals......is that a major PITA project? Acttually, has anyone ever worn them out??

POST 34Original post

Well there in and I think they look great. went in easy-just clipped on--they don't move and are tight. Don't rattle or anything--perfect--good choice IMO BTW Dead pedal uses 1 existing screw
