I am pretty paranoid on this and would love to use someone that has actually worked on a 996.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

48 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

We've all seen the outside modifications to the vehicles, let's see what the modification interiors look like on some of your 996s... I've done quite a few mods myself to the interior, although haven't taken any pictures yet... (great way to start off a post about interior pictures huh) just curious to see what's out there and available.. and debating on what looks best... feel free to share away so we can all get an idea of what interior modifications for us all to consider...

POST 2Original post

More planned. Such as Sparco Evo II's with custom leather, roll bar (Das Sport) and harnesses. shown: AJUSA Airbag sports wheel, GT3 console delete. Chad

POST 3Original post

Since I bought my car from dealer stock and I didn't like the very plain black interior, I've added a number of carbon fiber parts. I'll also probably add silver instrument rings.

POST 4Original post

I did two things: 1. Aluminum Rings 2. Ripped out the center cup holder and installed the Passport Radar detector.

POST 5Original post

911 Decal on Batwing (not shown) Aluminium Gauge Rings Arctic silver plug for rear center console lock Bird Armrest w/Cupholder Removed Airbag Warnings Removed Map Tray

POST 6Original post

Rob, thats the first time ive seen wood in a Pcar that i didnt hate it. mabye its because its a great quality picture! cheers riad, very clever passport install. heres mine GT3, bare essential mods, GT3 seats, rollbar, 6pt harness, fire extinguisher, Valentine 1.

POST 7Original post

POST 8Original post

LOLOL yes, thats my garage lighting, i live like a king.

POST 9Original post

That is a NICE stealth install of the Passport! Best one Ive ever seen in any car

POST 10Original post

I even has AS bits that Don has not thought of (and that's not easy) there was a time it looked like this:

POST 11Original post

Thanks Apex, Moogle... Here are some pics of the front grill and rear bumper laser detectors... Radar pics

POST 12Original post

Riad: Looks great. Where in the tri-state area did you get that done? I had a real bad experience with an install of the escort in my old car and would love to get it in the new car if I knew the person was good. Thanks CJ

POST 13Original post

DPBlessing: Where did you get the sequential shifter and how much? Have you used it on the track much? TD in DC

POST 14Original post

Rob, Nice looking wood! Same interior colors as mine and that just tipped me over the edge to install the wood! Great more money on mods..... thanx!

POST 15Original post

CJ, The place was in Orange County NY, about 60 miles north of you (near Woodbury Commons if that means anything to you). They were fantastic, if you can't find a place local let me know and I'll give you there contact info. Rob

POST 16Original post

Rob, thanks a lot. Please let me know who it was. I am pretty paranoid on this and would love to use someone that has actually worked on a 996. The job the guys did to my S4 was just terrible. Woodbury Commons, yeah it means something to me. I have a girlfriend who lives in NY.... Offprice, Ha, thats just rich! Thank You Chris

POST 17Original post

This is mine last November, new shots forthcoming.

POST 18Original post

Chris, The place is called Sound FX 228 Route 32 # 9, Central Valley, NY 10917 Phone: [phone removed] I have no affiliation with them, but tell them about my 2004 C4S Cab installation.

POST 19Original post

Not real interesting but I just finished a couple of winter interior projects so I thought I would post a pic of my interior. Note the new alum floor and the custom gas pedal. The pedal is not just a bolt over the old one. It's a full custom pedal with a much heavier hinge and other hardware. If your gas pedal hasn't broken yet, it's only a matter of time.

POST 20Original post

What do I have to do to get a gas pedal like that??

POST 21Original post

here is mine.....just like my sig says...kinda boring really

POST 22Original post

I got it at Akkurat here in NorCal. (It is the Cartronic unit). I don't recall the exact price as we had a lot of things done and my office did some engineering for them, so as far as I can recall, it was around $4k installed. It works very well on the street and on the track... the track use verified by a few local DE instructors. It is bieng pulled this week as I am selling the car, so the sequential shifter will be for sale for around $2500 (includes the modified cables so the buyer does not have to have his stock cables modified).

POST 23Original post

Cos, The guy that built it for me is thinking of starting a company to fabricate parts like the alum floorpan and the gas pedal kit. I'll ask him if he wants to make another set like mine. I think he's going to want me to use it for a few races to make sure it works ok. Jim

POST 24Original post

Here's mine. Sun was shining today, 17 degrees C, top off for the first time

POST 25Original post

Hey Scouser, what's that thing hanging off your mirror? I'm almost afraid to ask.

POST 28Original post

scouser - also, whats that red and yellow thing as well on your dash?

POST 29Original post

Yeah it's an acorn. Actually its a block of spruce wood shaped like an acorn, just an air freshener. The red thing......dear me......it's a red nose. Don't you guys have red nose day in the US? I know they do in Australia. It's a charity thing just wedged there for the week. http://www.comicrelief.com/

POST 30Original post

Red nose day? No such thing in Canada either. I think you're making this stuff up as you go along. An acorn, a red nose. Tell us the truth, are you some kind of sick clown?

POST 31Original post

Yes, scouser, we're all friends here... please do share..

POST 32Original post

How did you know I was a clown? Also a part time squirrel. Red nose day Australia: http://www.rednoseday.com.au/ Red nose day UK: http://www.comicrelief.com/

POST 33Original post

You left one of your shoes in my parking lot....oh, wait, that's a Z4

POST 34Original post

Hmmm.. Totally lost me there. shoes? Z4? Sorry mate I don't have a clue what you on about.

POST 36Original post

Ah yes a clown shoe. OK got that bit but still don;t get the connection to the Z4. Although it would take a clown to own one

POST 37Original post

That's OK. My sense of humor is "different". Or humour, if you prefer ;-)

POST 38Original post

Leedac, do you mean the BMW M-Coupe? I've heard people refer to that car as a shoe. Anyhow, I still require a reasonable explanation for that odd-shaped "acorn-like" thing on Scouser's windshield.

POST 39Original post

That's an ugly one too. I was thinking of the latest roadster.

POST 40Original post

You're making fun of a man with one nut hanging by a thread, and he has a big red nose. What's so strange about that??? Now being a "Toffee" supporter... Big day tomorrow kiddo! Got to beat those Reds!

POST 41Original post

You said it mate! Look out for me in the crowd

POST 42Original post

Berny, what kinda iPOD wount is that? Been looking for something to mount my iPOD.

POST 43Original post

check out Proclip.com for mounts....they have model specific stuff for what you're mounting, and where you're mounting to!!!!!

POST 44Original post

These pics have been on another thread already but there it is: Approximately $250 DIY cheapo-interior stuff: Some alcantara pieces and DIY alu-look stuff. GT-3 console delete missing. I might end up doing a version of my own out of CF.

POST 45Original post

All you need now is a 3 spoke wheel are you are done. Nicely done.

POST 46Original post

Agreed. That 4-spoke is pretty s****y looking I'm learning how to do my own CF pieces and if the parts turn out to be good - then I'll be doing some CF stuff as well - Again, on a budget

POST 47Original post

Dell, I got it from www.brodit.se . It's a neat solution.
