Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

are these things glued to the covers? if i just rip the two things apart, will i brake the speaker? i'm trying to get rid of my rear speakers but want to move one of the rears to the front because i blew one of the fronts, are the rears and fronts the same size? also, if i decide to replace them with aftermarket speakers, any 4"x6" ones will do right? do i have to take any special steps to get them to fit properly? (i know jack **** i about car audio) can i go bigger/smaller in size? i'm looking at alpine type R's and they make some 3-way speakers in 5"7" but only 2 ways in 4"6"

POST 2Original post

Hey DeAd-EyE, The dash and rear speakers are actually 4" components -- 4" woofer and 1" tweeter. The door speakers are 5-1/4" subs. I am actually in the process of upgrading my cabriolet's sound system right now. I am replacing the dash speakers with a pair of Focal Polyglass 100 V2 2-way components and the door speakers with a pair of Focal Utopia 5WS subwoofers. These speakers will fit and others on this forum have put them on their cars. Talk to Rod @ http://www.CarAudioInnovations.com -- he's a really cool guy and can answer all your questions.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hmm...how much do those cost? i'm not really looking for anything fantastic. just some good quality long lasting stuff i can blast (so i can hear the music over my infernal pipes). (note: alpine type-x in 4" and 1" are like 400 bucks..those are off the list)
