Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I paid for the window regulator and oil change (25,000 miles on car and 1st issue) and the delaer gave me two options without cost:
Leading evidence: 'Replace (25,000 miles' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace (25,000 miles' (1 discussions). Thanks for the group's input on warranties...still not sure of choice, but seems CPO is favored.
Hi All -
Bought my car July 2006 as CPO with 9,245 miles. Took car in yesterday for window regulator replacement and Porsche dealer said car didn't have CPO. Dealer admitted that they fumbled the paperwork so the Porsche CPO warranty wasn't applied to my car. My sales receipt says Porsche CPO.
I paid for the window regulator and oil change (25,000 miles on car and 1st issue) and the delaer gave me two options without cost:
1) They will give me 24 month /100k Porsche CPO from yesterday's date, or
2) They will give me an Easy Care Gold, zero deductible, "total care" warranty for 36 months or 60k miles.
I've read the fine print carefully and the Easy Care is more comprehensive. The regulator would have been covered under Easy Care, but not Porsche CPO.
I paid a premium for a low mileage Porsche CPO, so I don't know if not having CPO would impact resale. The Easy Care is transferrable for $50 so maybe point is moot?
I would appreciate you sharing your collective knowledge regarding my choices. The dealer did the full inspection and did not charge me, but wants me to make a decision ASAP.
Take the Porsche CPO!
Most Dealers will bend over backwards for the Factory Warranty, but the other ones are a hassle, even when they do agree to pay. I had a one year (non Porsche CPO) that was "full coverage" and I always worried what they would really cover. I had a few issues with getting them to cover things. I found out that none of that is an issue with the Porsche CPO.
Hope this helps.
I'm not familiar with Easycare but the CPO has been good to me so far. BTW, the CPO transfers as well as long as you sell to another private party or through a Porsche dealer.
I have a couple motorcycles, another car (the "airport" car), live 10 miles from my office and I travel a fair bit so Porsche mileage is very low. I do drive it pretty much every single day and have really enjoyed it for the past 2+ years.
Thanks for the group's input on warranties...still not sure of choice, but seems CPO is favored.
CPO, I just read that Porsche's new policy for CPOs is that they cover everything just as the warranty did (was not the case in the past). Good luck! Nice cab.
EasyCare is a great option. I have had both a CPO and EasyCare, and I will tell you that the CPO was no where near as comprehensive. The CPO is not, and I repeat, not a full new car warranty. For instance, CPO did not cover the coolant tank, EasyCare would have covered it.
Just my $0.02
Thanks much for all your input. I opted for CPO because because I *think* I will have more leverage with my Porsche dealer than I would have with EasyCare and because I can cover the "incidental" expenses even if they seem ridiculous whereas I would be .....to say the least....royally ticked off if I had to buy a new engine, trans or other major component.
Really though, why worry about this warranty stuff at all? I hear 2004 C4S Cabs last at least 70k miles (thanks Riad) and unless I take the shrink wrap off my car, I wont hit that mileage until about 2014!
