Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
You should not routinely use the rear fog light UNLESS visibility is so bad that it will be invaluable at keeping from being run into from behind.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
I noticed that I have only the left side rear fog light working. I removed the right light and I noticed there was no bulb in the fog light spot. I have put one in there (P21W) but it does not work. I do not have 12V reaching the rear connector.
Is it normal? Do we have rear fog lights only on the driver side or my car has something wrong?
Thanks everyone for your help
J-F
There is only supped to be one, all is well.
Unless you have a Range Rover or Jag and want to drive with them on all the time!
(sorry, drived me nuts!)
The concept of the rear fog light is that it's asymetrical in addition to being very bright and that attracts attention. Can't understand why some people add a second rear fog.
Normal on pretty much every german car I've ever had, but I think some other countries (thinking USA) may have both fogs on their cars, at least I feel like I've seen and freaked out thinkiing they were reverse lights.
embarressed to say I have not driven my car in the fog or at night and never noticed the light (or switch) before... but thanks to this thread I looked it up, tried it out, COOL !!!
Still, I should have known but I must have skipped that page in the manual?
Thanks for the post!
Ed
Since I deem that I would hardly EVER need a single fog light, in the rear yet, I wired both rear fogs into the brake light circuit so drivers behind me get a more pronounced indication of my being on the binders.
Pull the light switch out to the first "click" activates the front fog lights. Pull the light switch out to the second "click" activates the rear fog lights.
German cars routinely come with a single rear fog on the driver's side. (UK code requires them on both side so that's the difference). Many Scandinavian cars come with the single light as well. You should not routinely use the rear fog light UNLESS visibility is so bad that it will be invaluable at keeping from being run into from behind.
well... On the stupid wagon here...I finished some work on the front end and took the car for a quick drive. I tested the rear fog light out and its really cool...
remember I said "stupid wagon"
There are front fog lights too!! Man I feel stupid. I use the lights in the day but I never knew I had fog lights front and rear... Man what a great day for me! Dipsh*t LMAO
OK beat me...I deserve it
I would love to beat on you, but I couldn't do as good of a job as you have done on yourself! However, if you were
