Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just cannot wait.....I'm to get it back on Thursday. ImagineAuto is local Porsche builder( But of National reputation) and I went to their open house last month. For being so close it's an outstanding facility. Anyway, I've got a 2004 C4 seal grey that they are going to put on Fabspeed headers and Exhaust. They are also putting on an air induction and chipping software upgrade. These are my first modifications. Their price seems reasonable and they know a lot more than the local dealership and actually spend some time discussing what to do and expect. My lowly little C4 was next to TT's and Supercharged 400-600 hp screamers. They showed me a gourgeous supercharged cab, Sweet. Anyway pictures and thoughts when I get the car back..........

POST 2Original post

Couple questions. Would love to know about the headers. Seems to be a debatable topic about their impact. What's their take on Porsche and warranty concerns? Also, what kind of software did you go with? I already have the Fabspeed exhaust and intake on my 01' Seal Grey C4!!, but would like to know what you think after you have all of the work done with the headers and software. Look forward to the pics and welcome!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yetis, I'll let you know Friday......Zoom.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Havent had the cars for two hour but there is a noticeable difference in torque and hp. The sound is louder after 3000 rpm but it really isnt that intrusive even with the top down. Steve at IA put new software in and it really makes the difference according to him, I agree. He says I've got an honest 22-25 HP with the setup, I agree. It maybe a little pricey but for a few thousand of NA horses, hey the property tax is more. Now as to the note on exhaust there is not even a hint of resonance or ricy tinny noise. It is deeper and raspier but it aint no screamer but those who know, well they will know. (I am a 46-year-old attorney-trust me, it isnt loud.) Pictures tomorrow (maybe later tonight)

Nice car, nice mod, too bad you're a lawyer, just kidding. I hear good things about IA, if I mstill lived out there I'd use them as well. Chris

POST 8Original post

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay, I drove the car about 75 miles today. NO Question the software/hardware is a SOLID 25+ Seat-Of-The-Pants Dyno prize. I felt it through the entire range. No low end loss that some people said in previous threads. Noise--again, is increased maybe 15-20 percent in normal daily driving style. On the throttle about 33 percent increase in deep rubbling hornets. Not a ruff noise but a Heavy Sporty throttle. Not glass-packs of teenager days, a truly refined short of racy noise. Very similar to my friends PSE system, but MEANER, IMHO. Trust me you won't need to turn it off unless your MOM complains. Hell, It's a sports car. Totally recommend IA and Steve's recommendation of the Software upgrade. FUN CITY!

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay wadda ya think I want the short shifter and maybe a suspension. Any ideas?

POST 11Original post

if you can, you should test out both types of short shift kits. the in car and under car varieties. i have the b&m in car SSK. i like it a lot. had one in my old boxster too. it shortens the fore-aft throw as well as side to side. this may make it easier to miss a shift though. not good when going from 5th to 2nd instead of 4th! i wish i tried the under car type of ssk before i installed the in car ssk. they have adjustable throw reduction and the side to side throw remains unchanged from stock. less chance of a missed shift. i've heard that the in car ssk is notchier than the under car ssk. FWIW, porche is using the b&m SSK. if you want a little better handling get RoW m030. will lower the ride height a tad 20mm front an 10mm rear. for more aggressive handling get bilstein pss9s or h&r coilovers. most tuners have their own flavour of bilstein pss9s or h&rs. i have the h&rs and like em a lot. i wanted a good matched set of dampers and coils with ride height adjustablity without the adjustable damping fuss. click my sig to see the before and after ride height shots. this is after:

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, I'll look into both. I was thinking about lite fly wheel and beefier clutch. Looks like you have installed. Is it worth the effort?

POST 13Original post

personally, i can live with the added gear noise a light weight flywheel will transmit. it's not bad and at highway speeds you can't even hear it. i hear it when lugging the car w/low revs and when engine breaking at low speeds and when idling w/ the clutch pedal disengaged (slight rattling noise). i wouldn't consider it if you are annoyed with mechanical noises or if you have a cabrio. with that said, i like it a lot. the car revvs so quickly now. it is that much more peppy and its easier to rev match when heel-toeing.
