I will be keeping my �01 996 in a garage and plan to disconnect the battery (will prevent the bonnet from closing), put the car up on jacks (avoid wheel bearing damage?), put some fuel stabilizer in the tank, and cover the car.

Hi, I� moving from the US to Austria for a couple of years for a short work assignment and was wondering if anyone has experience in long-term storage can offer some advice. I will be keeping my �01 996 in a garage and plan to disconnect the battery (will prevent the bonnet from closing), put the car up on jacks (avoid wheel bearing damage?), put some fuel stabilizer in the tank, and cover the car. Is there anything else I should do? I�ve searched for a place that does long term storage in CT without much luck so I�ve decided to do it myself. If anyone knows of a long-term storage Co. for cars that you can recommend I would be very appreciative. Thanks, Chris

change the oil as well to flush out contaminants. make sure the windows are rolled down a tiny bit to allow for cross ventilation. might wanna take the rims off but its not absolutly necessary.
