Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys , I started searching for a bidirectional scan tool a few weeks ago . This to be used to support my 99 996 C4 and 02 986 S . I had it narrowed down to a Foxwell nt710 but then I remembered that the icarsoft was highly regarded on this forum and others . I went to their website and decided to ask them a few questions to narrow down the scanner options . Here's what I asked . 1. What scan tool do you recommend to cover both of my Porsche's ? 2. I need to code my 996 to " fixed " rear spoiler because I installed a ducktail . Which scanner can do that ? I received a reply that simply stated " we have nothing that covers your cars " . To be honest I was shocked by the reply . So they are off the list . Very strange . Are my cars considered too old ? I guess I will get the Foxwell .

POST 2Original post

Let us know how the Foxwell Porsche software works, I am thinking of adding it to my Foxwell NT710.

I ordered the nt710 scanner a few minutes ago . Supposed to be delivered 4/25 - 4/29 . I will post my results of trying to change the rear wing to fixed .

POST 4Original post

I have coded the spoiler out on 997 with Durametric Pro, but it doesn’t do the 996. The PIWIS III can do the later 996. The 996.1 definitely has less coverage than later 996. You may have to modify the wiring harness or purchase the pricey Porsche fixed spoiler harness.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

^^^ On another Porsche forum a few guys stated they had success coding the fixed spoiler on a 996 with Foxwell scanners . Time will tell if it works on mine . Skip has said he has coded the fixed wing position with his Piwis 2 if I remember correctly . I needed/wanted a better scan tool than I currently own so not much lost if it doesn't work .
