Suggestion

So I would imagine that the rain may have been sucked into the air box and temporarily wet the sensor causing the CEL until it dried out and the DME reset the code.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is anyelse encountering this problem? I got these two codes last week driving in the rain. Cleared it and got my car washed today and got the CEL light on again....

POST 2Original post

I just threw an 1128 and it ended up being related to the MAF....which I took out, cleaned, and reinstalled....then reset the CEL and have had no further problem. So I would imagine that the rain may have been sucked into the air box and temporarily wet the sensor causing the CEL until it dried out and the DME reset the code.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I cleaned the MAF during the week also and the car ran much better right after that. I am waiting for my OBD II code reader ordered last week to arrive so I can reset the CEL myself....

POST 4Original post

I just reset mine by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes then reconnected and fired it up and went for a drive. It drove much better, idled smoother, and the CEL never came back. I did have to reset the radio code though.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Chuck. I do not know my radio code as it is not in the booklet. I am worried that if I disconnect the battery to reset my CEL, I would never get the radio to work again..

POST 6Original post

chao: Just get ahold of Loren on RennTech....he will take you thru a couple steps and give you the code that will get your radio working again. He gets a little info from you, then he gives you a couple of codes to put in and the the radio comes right back on. He's done this for a lot of people....including me. Chuck
