Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've got my fuel level sender and pump out to remove some older gas I didn't want to restart the car on. Good news was everything was fine and the tank and pump are spotless, Both are functioning fine but are 26 years old at this point and probably due for a preventative replacement "while I'm in there." Unlikely I will go Porsche original, but wondering if other owners have generally had good luck with one of the other aftermarket brands, eg. VDO, URO, Hella, etc. Pelican sales rep told me they don't get returns on the URO unit, which I'm assuming is a good sign.

POST 2Original post

I bought a Continental VDO fuel pump from Pelican for my '99 back in Oct 2023 (~$208). It solved a hot-starting problem I was having at the time. I've put about 2000 miles on it since and no problems.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the feedback. I believe VDO is the OEM for both the pump and the fuel level sender.
