Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I added the Porsche logo to my lower front spoiler, today. The stickers were advertised as metal, but if there's any metal, it must be like gold leaf. They do have a really cool "brushed aluminum" finish, though. I thought it might look good seeing my car is silver. Came out better than I thought. It actually looks very "OEM", in person. That's probably because it does match the exterior and obviously it's the correct font. Anyway, the more I looked at it...the more it grew on me. But, I do want to know what fellow Porsche owners think...Yah or Nay

POST 5Original post

A little redundant, but a well-designed and executed add-on. I'd call it not a "must have" nor a "must remove," but rather an "owner's choice."

POST 7Original post

Personal taste IMO. The execution looks OK, but I find additional badging unnecessary; if anything, de -badge it . My .02:

POST 9Original post

Looks fine, Just remember that spoiler is a wear item!

POST 10Original post

both sides? - pic of other side I like this side, but think the other side would look funny since the lettering faces forward.. Nice sticker, where did you pick it up.

POST 13Original post

I don't think it looks bad - it is pretty subtle, in fact I actually missed it when I first looked at the photo. If you like it, then keep it. Personally, I wouldn't add it, but again - I think it looks nice enough that if you like it, you should keep it.

POST 14Original post

It looks WAY better than that Tacky amber bulb in your side marker light

POST 15Original post

I agree with the comment that more badging is not necessary. But its you car so if you like it Rock On!

POST 16Original post

Is that so really short people can tell it's a Porsche Looks ok but I'm for less badging not more.

POST 17Original post

I like it. Maybe because the color matches your car color.

Marc, the politically correct term is "horizontally challenged" people! Carry on!

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 6800384

Horizontally?? I would have said vertically - see.... I never get these things right

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 6800384

Horizontally challenged = Drunk laying on his face on the curb Vertically challenged = er... midget

POST 22Original post

I dont need no drunks laying along side my car getting ready to urinate on the tires

I hear it gets the brake dust off the wheels better than P21S Gel

POST 24Original post

Yeah, "vertically" is correct, but I wanted to see how many guys would catch the mistake! Speaking of drunks...... I knew this guy who once told me that for years he thought the metal bar in front of the bar stool was a head rest!

Thanks guys, for all the replies and input. Like most things, it just comes down to personal taste...albeit rims, wings, etc. The actual inspiration came from a track/race car, I saw. It had the logo placed similarly on the side of the front spoiler. It had other stickers/sponsors/numbers, but I thought it looked pretty good, located there. The other thing was that on my old 928 (which was black), I added silver stickers inside the embossed/stamped logo on the rear bumper. A common addition back then, and it really made the rear "pop", on a black car. The same was true for the 944 rear wing, and I thought that would be kinda cool...if the front chin spoiler on the 996, was embossed/stamped with the logo, like the 944 rubber wing. A subtle touch and you could "enhance" it, if so inclined. Well, obviously it's not embossed, so I tried the stickers just to see if it would look, as I was envisioning. Honestly,....I'm still up in the air about it. Also, I don't know how well it'll hold up to the elements, washings, etc.,......we'll see! Just the driver's side. I didn't want it to look tacky!!! Got the stickers off Ebay. Search for "metal" Porsche stickers. I'll search for "clear" bulbs!! How did this turn into a thread about midgets. Just so everyone knows,....I typed this thread horizontally , while sitting vertically .

Sorry Jon, missed your statement. Thanks, you're right...I wouldn't have even tried it had they not matched....that's the key. Perhaps a black car with the black spoiler, a contrasting color may work??? Truth is Jon, with our wheels...whose gonna look at anything else!! Oops,...did I say that outloud.

Yeah, and I didn't have to yell at him to post pics!

POST 35Original post

not clear bulbs - those are white in color when lit - silver bulbs are amber when lit, silver when not LINK this is where I got mine

POST 36 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6801503

Thanks Ed,....I was wondering what you meant by that, as I didn't want "white" blinkers!! Probably illegal, anyway. Do you recall what bulbs you ordered...there's about 25 of them on that page. I haven't pulled the bulbs, yet...and I'm at work, now. Thanks, again...they'll look alot better

POST 37Original post

I just emailed them (him) and said what I have and asked what I needed. I got a set for the front blinkers, the rear and the side markers...They are 1 year old now and have had no issues. He was easy to deal with but some folks have had other opinions.... you can choose if you want to mess with the blinkers or not, but the sides are a no brainer - EASY install! _ GL and post more pics... ALSO - I agree, one side for this sticker IS right!! 2 would be too much - beautiful car BTW !!

POST 39Original post

If you'd have described this to me I would have said no way. Looking at the pics I really kind of like it - and I'm usually one for removing badges and logos.
