Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I tried to like the by-pass pipes, but just couldn't. Went out and bought all new stainless hardware. I'm happy again! Its strange, my wife loved the by-pass pipes.

POST 2Original post

I am with you... I really tried to like the by-pass pipes, but they were just too loud for a DD and unlike you my wife HATED them - MKII hacks here, and i am very happy... she doesnt even know they are on!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, my car isn't even a DD. Just too loud and I'm not even old.

POST 5Original post

Did your Fabspeed mufflers mellow a lot over time? I like them, but mine are so mellow I am actually thinking of changing to something else.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mine are probably 5 years old, I just bought the car in April so I have nothing to compare it to. I like it a little mellow.

Mine did. At first I thought there was a slight hint of drone. After a couple hundred miles, they mellowed out. I almost think they're not loud enough now. They still sound great at WOT after 4K. At street speeds and Idle they're almost too quiet.

POST 8Original post

I wonder if you had someone drive your car thru a neighborhood at low speeds and you followed closely with the windows open, if it sounds as quiet as you think. My guess is not.... I recently got behind a nice C4S on the way out of work and his car souonds SOOO sweet just at 10/20 mph, but my guess is that inside he doesnt even know its making any sound at all... once we hit the freeway and he goes WOT - wooohoooo!!! see ya......... cant wait to get my car back and run the chance of getting with him on that on ramp

POST 9Original post

Fabspeeds only drone when you lug the engine. I drove my pcar 5+ hours from home to Lake Placid yesterday and noticed it when you lug the engine from 3rd gear on on the mountain roads.
