Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

on my rear driver side seat... Don't know where it comes from. Does it have anything to do with the sunroof? Is there a drain that goes down to that area? Any advise on where to look for the problem would be great....the season is just starting

POST 2Original post

COULD BE THE SUNROOF DRAIN IS PLUGEED WHERE IS LEAKING FROM

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

...where is the sunroof drain? Do I need to look up at top where the sunroof is or where? Thanks.

POST 4Original post

THERES A DRAIN TUBE ON EACH SIDE OF THE SUNROOF YOU WILL NEED TO LOOSEN AND LOWER THE HEADLINER TO SEE THEM

POST 5Original post

Water drainage plan - Coupe 1 - Water drainage: sliding roof, rear 2 - Water drainage: sliding roof, front 3 - Water drainage: tank tray 4 - Water drainage: evaporator of heating and air-conditioning system 5 - Water drainage: radiator tank

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for the drawing...helps! so, i guess i will have to loosen the headliner starting at the sunroof...uughhh....hope i get it placed back in :-(

POST 7Original post

You can also clear the lines from the bottom. Either air pressure or wire.

POST 8Original post

BUT IF THE LINE IS OFFOR ITS PLUGGED AT THE OPENING YOU WILL JUST BLOW THE HOSES OFF THE FRAME

POST 9Original post

I guess if you're stupid enough to pressurize the lines with an ungodly amount of air, you would be right. However, a blockage that is stronger than the connection of the drain line would be extremely unlikely, if not almost impossible. The connection is almost impossible to disconnect deliberately. Even blowing into the lines with 5 psi is often more than what is necessary to clear them and is an easier job than getting to it from the top. You can also use suction, which is what I do.

POST 10Original post

I know I shouldn't, but I can't resist...So are you saying you SUCK?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ahhh...think I shall let a guy fix this problem...so it's gonna be their choice of method :-) Thanks so for all the help!!! e.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

o.k....got the drawing...been under the car...where do the lines come out? cannot find them! please one more hint :-) t.y. btw....cleaned out my garage and found joe schmoo in there....any bids? ;-)

POST 15Original post

They drain up inside the fenders you will not see them from underneath.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Great, thanks, found them. got the left one cleared, but the driver side, not doing it! Used air pressure and wire, no water going thru. Oh well, at least one side is clear and maybe that will be sufficient otherwise I think I have to take the headliner off and get to the starting point of the drain...bummer! Thanks for all the help, much appreciated. e.

POST 17Original post

hi could any one give me a detailed idea of how to find the rear sunroof drain hole so i could try to clear from this end (having the same problem as the OP) thanks

POST 18Original post

Check out the diagram in post #5 of this thread. There should be one rear drain tube on each side of the car.
