Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

about to buy this car, i love it. however porsche dealership found leaking RMS and intermediate. they did not replace the clutch because it was still at 60%. 30K miles, good history, and well taken care of. hearing and reading this forum for the last two weeks, and am terribly concerned that my emotions are keeping my objectivity at bay. should i walk from the deal at $37K? it has an aftermarket warranty good for another 18 months. please advise, you all seem particularly objective. im completely conflicted. thanks, r

POST 2Original post

The RMS leak is not to big of a deal. See if the warranty will cover it. The IMS is of more concern. Leaks are not that uncommon, but can indicate a bigger problem. Again, will the warranty cover the seal? check out Flat 6 innovations/LN Engineering for their upgrade to the IMS bearing. Price seems a little high in today's market, you see some Turbos going in the upper 30"s. Is this a private sale or a dealer?

POST 3Original post

I would walk if the RMS and IMS are leaking. Not a good sign of thing to come. Just my 2 1/2 cents.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

both were replaced under warranty the seller has. private seller, very accomodating and supportive, but yes my gut says to walk. sweet car with all the trimmings, including nitrogen filled tires! new on me. owner really babied this one thanks for the feedback! r
