Same car (unless, heaven help us, there is more than one teal-on-teal 2001 996TT running around) has been on Ebay forever asking much more!

They're a lot lighter than stock and let me run full harnesses though, so they'll do for now.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I do like the BMW's, but it's still not enough red to make you go 'WOW!".....
Funny how some folks love it and some folks hate it. Always amazes me. That's why Porsche offers all the choices that it does, and a large number of folks take creative advantage of that opportunity. It is definitely a more exciting color combination than the usual dull 6 shades of grey (oh,...DULL!) that many folks think are wonderful.
Looks like someone went carte blanche at bumperplugs.com
But if it's Exclusive Program, then it cost $50k and therefore, by definition,
must
be tasteful. </rennlist>
What is it about TX and FL cars? Every time one comes up on Ebay (that's where all Porsches in TX are sold, right?) I shudder. Look for an option sticker that'd been underwater for less than a month = good car!
I like the all black much better than the red, but it's got too much carbon for me also. Indeed to each his own, here's mine;
I like the color with the blue exterior of my car just fine, I wouldn't mind all black either.
That red, oh my impossible to look past. The only way I'd buy that car is if it were going to get stripped on the inside.
Nope...wow - um... stunning??? (If you can't say anything nice...) Not for me... Almost as attractive as that Nephryte Green interior in the Arctic Silver that was floating around here a little while ago...
Rudy
Is that interior Boxster Red (it seems darker for some reason)? If you look closely you'll notice that everything is covered in leather (gauge, radio, ignition, hazard surrounds, cup holders, vents, slats). It's almost too much, but the black carpeting saved it from being overkill....love it!
Ed,
If the exterior car color is the same color as the trim, that's not bad. A little much for a run-of-the-mill cab like mine, so it would have to be on a wide body or GT3... On one of those cars that says "look at me" and can deliver...
Rudy
Looks like the can can interior that was in my Zermatt Silver 951. At least that was "cool" in 1986. Then again so were girls with big hair and spandex pants.
The red is nice imho. What is not nice is red wine interior like this poor unfortunate soul. It actually makes me a little sick to my stomach to look at it.

I like it! Wouldn't hesitate to take it before grey or (eeek!) beige. Red carpet however would be too much, and I agree with Zookie... a little carbon fiber would look great. It wouldn't work with my red car though, but black, silver or polar would be nice.
Now to me that is butt ugly, reminds me of the red interior on the Plymouth Fury II station wago we had when I was a kid. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Ed, yes they're the Maxspeeds. The carbonfiber lay quality is outstanding, but the leather is so-so. They're a lot lighter than stock and let me run full harnesses though, so they'll do for now. I'll probably get real GT3 seats if I ever follow through w/my GT3 purchase. We shall see...
I like them in the cooler weather a lot more than a hot day... seem to "sink in" a bit... and yes, the leather is not the best, but at the price point... for me it was the only option
MARLON - Those wheels are UGLY... let me know if you dont want them
I will take them off your hands and "figure out" something to do with em
I have some spare spings, if you want to "double up" you might gain that height your looking for
we can swap straight across
OK...i was going to stay out of this but here's my .02
Overall I like the color of the red I think it just needs to be toned down a touch in order to make it really nice. The black carpet is a good start, maybe just go with a black steering wheel, black horseshoe and maybe make the lower dash black and you've got a winning combination that I'd order if I were buying the car new.
I love our red / Black interior in our M3...but it's a bit more subtle with just seats, door inserts and arm rests being red.
You can order the lower center console and lower dash also wrapped in the same leather hide as an extension. Still leaves the top of the dash black and still offers a subtle mix for those wanting a little more. I'll see if I can dig up a picture for you. I decided against it as I thought the interior on our car was a perfet mix.
I think its the all red dash / vents / horseshoe / wheel that makes the Porsche interior a bit over the top. Most of that could be easily addressed other than the dash itself.
**edit...here's a couple pictures of the extended leather option in the M3 wiht the lower dash and console wrapped in red too**
That was hideous. There was also one about a year ago that had been custom ordered by a Miami Dolphins player (I believe). It was turquoise on the outside, and orange on the inside. Now
that
was interesting...
Orange and Turquoise!? Eh, ok maybe that wouldn't do it for me. lol. The only reason I would ever consider buying a car that like is just because no body else would in the world would have a similar one.
Ever seen one like this before?
From the ad:
"The very special aspect of this car is the interior, which is a rare 2 tone Boxster Red/Black with Carbon Fiber Trim."
(Actually looks like a very nice low-mileage car with some very nice mods.)

Turquoise goes with Natural Brown,--but certainly not Orange! What were they thinking!?
I've got to say. That red interior car, and your car are by far the most stunning interiors I have seen. And yours has some much leather in it! If I'm ever lucky enough to spec out my own 911, it'll have leather everything.
How's this for a stunning interior.....or.... well.....yeah, it's just awful. And the exterior doesn't help.

I'm not a fan of the Jade/Nephrite combo but at that price I could learn to like it.
I actually like the Nephrite interior as I have it in my Boxster, although I have more black to break it up a bit. It's one of those colors that do not photo well. It's the Jade exterior and the wood interior that don't work for me, but I've seen that exterior color on a modded Boxster that looked great and on the wide bodied turbo it could look even better.
I wonder if its only the color combo on this one that holding the price down or if there are other issues as well. That one has been on the market for a long time. It could be a great deal for the right buyer.
Each to their own... I have a green interior in my 993 that I love. But my 997 RS is all functional black and I love that too. Colour choice is about as personal as a choice in a life long partner... i stopped judging sometime back... thats what makes us all individual,, having said that the first response was pretty darn funny....
1. I'm the new guy...I have to show a little initiative and dedication.
2. I'm in Iraq with nothing but time on my hands.
3. It's listed still, on autotrader I believe, for $29.9
Just so you guys can see my other pride and joy... and THE GREEN INTERIOR....
But in all seriousness, I bought this 993 because of the colour combo... I know many that hate it but it really doesnt bother me... its all mine and hell, I will never sell it so no one else will have to endure the colour combo. haha...
That's actually a nice combo, I think it's aesthetically pleasing. It's not a green that jumps out at you, which I think would be detrimental...like that teal / turquoise in that TT
Thanks very much mate, yes I do like the way the interior and exterior go hand in hand and appear subtle yet a bit loud at the same time.... but thats just me
Yuk.[

I like the text of the autotrader ad:
Definitely the same teal car(see broken speaker grill on passenger side door). The new sellers address is somewhere in PA. Probably a dealer that is located near the Manheim auction. I'm sure they think they got a fantastic deal on that car! I actually don't mind the exterior. I wonder if you could find a used black or beige interior to swap out the hideous Nephrite green and still be thousands less than a comparable car?
