The factory fitted 17mm spacers to the fat *** cars (C4S and TT) when fitting the wheels that were made in the narrow body offset.

Suggestion
I managed to forget during the thread that you were C4S not TT, go with the turbo hollow spokes & call it a day (or go GT3 and run the spacer, don't be afraid of spacers).

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thinking of going 996 GT3 wheel but also considering the 997 gt3 wheel. Will these fit without rolling the fender and what spacers will they require. the alternative is the 996 turbo hollow spoke. Figuring out a relatively lghtweight wheel that is strong without spending a fortune snce these are track rims.
I'm hoping the c4s wheel well is generous enough
The 996 GT3 wheels will of course fit, but would require a decent sized spacer, back of the envelope I think you're looking at 63mm gt3 rear, and you'll need to get to about 45mm for the widebody (at least). That means needing to run a 20-25mm spacer to get flush. You don't have to get flush, but I think at least 18mm
From what I remember the first gen 997 GT3 is a 68mm rear with a 5mm spacer standard (63mm) forthe 11 inch wheel. So it will fit but will require even more spacer than the 6GT3 wheels.
The new car runs a 12 inch rear wheel and I'm unsure of the offset. Maybe someone else knows.
Research tire prices prior to making your decision. I think you'll find for the price of a set of 19s on street tires you can buy two sets of 18s, one with street tires and the other with cheaters. If these are for the track, it's even more important to look at this
well, I think this short answer is not if you want them to fit.
63mm vs needing to get to at least 45mm to fit the widebody, I think you need the spacer. Remember it's a narrowbody wheel, widebody car. While it's less than an inch, why try running so far out of specification? Plus it will look crazy, fronts pushed all the way out to the edges (40mm 8.5j front is about as far as you can go on a 996 without rubbing, looks like it's sticking out almost) and rears pushed in about 2 inches.
305s will work, as will 295s

thats a steal, and already gone, but thats the way to go if you ask me. direct fit, most aggressive wheels for 996 widebody
That's about the going rate for hollows these days I think. Hard to find them super clean; I think I have a line on a nice set with painted center crests.
Edit: wait , those are 12s. A bit overkill for an N/A car IMO.
I agree GT2 are heavier than the narrower and hollow options, but if you want a "GT" oem wheel to directly fit a widebody those are the only choice.
I managed to forget during the thread that you were C4S not TT, go with the turbo hollow spokes & call it a day (or go GT3 and run the spacer, don't be afraid of spacers).
I'm not sure about that, but I would bet on you being right about it any day. maybe I'm thinking of a different car but IIRC the 6GT3 RS had like 15 or 16 offset rears
Maybe the 997 GT3RS wheels will fit, they are 12s though, and 19 inch dia. ($$$ for tires!)

+1 for 'don't be afraid to run spacers'. Even in stock form the C4S wheels seem a little sunken. I'm running the FVD 7mm up front and 15mm in the rear. I think it helps accentuate the the
JLo-ness
of the C4S
