Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was hoping to use the other Porsche Hydrolic Fluid because I have a big *** can of that on the shelf.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Reaching out to fellow Cab owners.
My '01 is starting to make a God awful noise when the top opens and closes.
As far as my ears can pin point, the noise is coming from the passenger side assembly (from under the carpet) back there.
It sounds like a creeking, grinding noise.
I suspect is either the motor or transmission (gear, lever, whatever) is under there that is straining when moving.
I'm guessing impending failure if not addressed.
Before I decide to dig around in there or take it to my local Indy shop, do any of you have any suggestions (previous experience, photos) for where this noise can be from?
Thanks all,
George
Open you top about 5 inchs from the windsheild, now go in the back un hook the cables that go from the back of the top down, they are just a pressed on ball, should pull off by hand thee is one on each side.
Flip the baqck of the top forward, be carefull that the window folds in the center as you fold.
Now remove the 4 black plastic caps on the rear of the wall behind the rear seats looking towards the front, should just pull out.
Now remove the carpet in the rear area. now you should be able to see the top hydrolic pump.
check your fluid level.
If its low find the leak
Brad,
I'm low on fluid. Also looks super dark.
Since the loud squeeks sounds like it's coming from the passensger side hydraulic ram, I'll look there for a leak. If so, looks to be tricky to replace.
Any other tips on common places for a leak?
take out the speaker on that side, there will be a black plastic piece behind the speaker. It is very flimsy plastic. note its position then pull it out, it is held in by a small clip that will stay in the water tray (note you must reinstall that flimsy plastic or your call will flood when it rains) you now have a un obstructed view of the ram.
As a side note while your in there clean any debris out of the water tray
