Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Drive several Porsches before you get 'pressured' by any dealer and by all means follow the advice mentioned...get a PPI and any maintance/repair history.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hi, this would be my first 911. Please let me know your thoughts on any aspect. 2004, cab, 29k miles, 3 owners, price $38k, color white, stick, no warranty...would purchase extended. Dealer is pushing to close as it is end of month.
Thanks,
george
dealer is always pushing to close... that's what they do...

what type of dealer (Porsche?)
have you had the car inspected outside of the place who is selling it -
to evaluate car adequately. You need more research and experience.
Do not worry. There are lots of nice used Carreras around. They'll be around. Used (and new) Porsches ain't exactly flying off the car lots nowadays.
If my reading of your ability to evaluate car wrong, then have car subjected to PPI. Run a CarFax report. Not infallible and if nothing bad appears not proof nothing bad exists, but if something bad appears that's good enough for me.
Try to find out from the dealers where car serviced what services/recalls it has had. I called around and found 3 dealers who serviced a used Turbo I wanted to buy. By giving the person at teh dealer I talked to the car's last 6 to 8 VIN numbers was told what services had and when.
Call PCNA customer service and find out where car sold, to which dealer. Start there.
Not saying car a bad car, but simply saying you should not be relying upon strangers, even those with the best of intentions, to say yes or no to a used car purchase. You should inform yourself sufficiently so you can answer your own question.
Sincerely,
Macster.

The Porsche 996 is the company's internal name for the version of the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between 1998 and 2005. It has since been replaced by the Type 997. Both body styles were used in 2005, depending on model.
