Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

this may be obvious, but perhaps the allen screw turned when the light was removed...see if you can adjust the screw to make sure it's 'open' rather than in the locked position.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When trying to re-install the driver side headlight back in its place, it simply wont click in. i tried everything and it feels like the plastic teeth on which the metal thingie clips are stripped. anybody experienced anything similar? any suggestions for fixing it?

POST 2Original post

You better hope it's not the 2 hooked plastic teeth that grab the metal rod cam that are sheared off. The ONLY fix for that is a new housing...$$$ and a PITA. It's a seriously crappy design.

POST 3Original post

Have you tried actually looking at the headlight assembly to see what the problem might be?

POST 4Original post

Try to ensure that the plastic lugs on the headlight assembly are located correctly in the guides designed for them. Hold the light assembly at an angle and look from underneath to locate them. Once they are in the guides, just push the light home. It should just click into place-very simple unless something is broken.

This is supremely good advice. On a number of occasions with my old Boxster S, the lock would 'close' and I couldn't get the light in without 'holding' the key in the open position in order to slide the light back in.
