Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Yes, but if you're thinking of supercharging the car and adding 100+ HP to it, I think changing the brakes makes lots of sense.

I think if you try and go larger than 14" you need to change rims.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hi all,
are the boxster S calipers, front and rear, identical to 996 C2 (except the color of course).
in other words, could anywone buy a set of Boxster S calipers and direct replace them with the 996?
I've been looking into bigger brajes for my 40th. Ann car as well. I am still having a hard time figuring out what parts would be needed for either Turbo (not really worth it if you ask me) or 6 piston a-la GT3/GT2. I assume rotors and calipers but I'm trying to find out what hub carrier for the front and if the rear hub carrier needs to be changed as well for the bigger brakes.
It depends on how you use your car. If you don't race the car then save your money. You will not really notice that much better stopping with the big brakes. Even if you AutoX or DE you will hardly notice unless you are very hard core. The only time you need it if you are doing club racing or time trials. The real advantage of big brakes is that they don't fade as much. Your standard brake are very good and people who changes them are more into the braggibg right than actually using them. Save your $$$ and buy rims if looks are what your going for.
Yes, but if you're thinking of supercharging the car and adding 100+ HP to it, I think changing the brakes makes lots of sense.
We had a guy killed at our local track (Summit Point) a few years ago. He had greatly increased the HP of his non-Porsche car, but not done anything to the brakes, and went off the end of the straightway into the trees. I don't know all the details, but I can't help but think bigger brakes might of helped.
Anyhow, if I ever put in that SC I've been lusting after, I'm planning on brakes too.
