Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Open track day at a small track in Alabama called Talladega Grand Prix. It's a small 1.4 mile track with a very nice rhythm. The track has some nice technical corners - off camber, long sweepers, and some nice decreasing radius bits. Not to mention, the weather was STUNNING. 68-70 degrees in the afternoon with a track temp recorded at 86. Perfect. To top it all off, for the first time in my track driving life...I posted FTD. Woo-hoo. While there were some very new track drivers, there were a good bunch of us nuts with solid bunch of time behind the wheel. not counting the noobs, my car was up against a Lotus Exige S, a 987 Boxster S, and a 986 Boxster (with nice track mods). IMO, the Exige driver was very good. My lap time was right around 1 sec quicker... My best, was ironically at the end of the day. A 1:10.59 What a great day out of the office. Videos and pics: This photo is a riot. We are in the middle of BFE Alabama at some PO-dunk gas station. Notice all the pick-ups. C.

POST 2Original post

Chad, Looking forward to the pictures. Sounds like an absolutely fantastic day. Thanks again for your buying guide write up. Now I just have to find the time to go and pick up my '02 C4S in SY that I bought at a dealer 800 miles away. Eric

Eric, You are most welcome. Enjoy that drive home. Be sure to pick a couple spots along the way to visit and experience. It makes it that much better. C.

POST 4Original post

That does qualify for a Great Day! Pics will be the icing on the cake.

POST 6Original post

Nice Chad! That second video is nice, nothing like the flat-6 shift @ high rpm.... nice exhaust. Thanks for sharing on a Friday morning!

POST 7Original post

Sounds - and looks - like a great day Chad. Thanks for sharing the pics and video.

POST 9Original post

When I lived in Atlanta in the 90's I would go over to this track with the Peachstate PCA gang. Back then, I had a 300XZ. Great place to shred a right front tire!

POST 10Original post

There's some Jedi night holding a light saber in front of the camera lens in video two! Tell him to go use the force somewhere else!! Nice action, and great sound

POST 11Original post

I just absolutely hate you, Chad. Ice and snow here in northeast Ohio, 4 inches in, predicting 6 more!!! And here you are showing us these pics. Hmmmm. Any job offers in Jor-jah?

+1...going back outside to shovel again in a minute...and no track days scheduled for at least 6 more weeks for me!

Chad, Great pics. After reading all these post, I'm just hoping that they have my C4S in Louisville inside the dealership, but I doubt that, but then again, it's C[B]4[B]S. I don't plan on using it as a car to go skiing, but the thought of pulling up to Mad River Glen in my C4S just sends tingles up my spine. Eric

POST 16Original post

Nice video and sound. Chad, how fast were you going in the second vid when you passed the grey 997? Beautiful sound. Thanks for taking the vids. Jay

POST 17Original post

No idea. I don't look at the speedo very often when I am on the track. Sorry. C.

4 inches - you are lucky we have had almost a foot in the last 24!
