Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Patience please - I did look at previous threads, and searched Youtube but did not find the answer I was looking for. How does the muffler mod sound when done to the 3.4 muffler? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Better than a stock 3.4, but not as good as a 3.6 PSE

POST 3Original post

From what I remember reading, it was a slight improvement, but not really worth the effort. Some run 3.6 cans on a 3.4 and say is is a little deeper. The sound is subjective, how loud do you want to go? PSE is my preference overall, but not a realistic upgrade at the moment. Most have said that the 3.6 mod is a very nice compromise pricewise to PSE. That said, I have just purchased a set of modded 3.6 cans for my 3.4.

POST 4Original post

I came up with a mod of a different design for my MK1 and was very happy with the results. This mod creates a louder and throater exhaust note as compared to the standard MK1 mod and is equivalent imo to the results gained with the MK2 mod on 3.6 cans. Check out this post for detail on the design and a couple of sound clips. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/334918-yet-another-pse-style-exhaust-mod.html -Wayne

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wayne - Thanks, sounds great. I noticed this was about a year ago. Are you still running this set up and pleased? Anyone with a set they want to part with?

POST 6Original post

Yes I continue to enjoy it have no plans to change. This mod is a keeper imo. Good sound, no drone, and low cost. -Wayne
