Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ran the stuff for years in race bikes with great success.
Leading evidence: 'Run stuff' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend severe gear 75w-90' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thinking of supporting a friend and putting Amsoil fluids in my car... but want to make sure I won't be causing any harm.
Motor Oil - Searching, the AFL Synthetic 5w-40 European engine oil seems to be pretty good.
Transmission fluid - My buddy's recommending Severe Gear 75w-90. I'm told it won't damage the soft metals in the synchros.
Brake fluid - Series 600 Dot 4 racing brake fluid. New stuff... haven't heard anything. Any risk of damaging the seals?
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
I ran the stuff for years in race bikes with great success. I would probably be running it in my cars if I had a source that was convenient to purchase their products.
WHAHAHAHAHHA yea it's like... so you reached great success with that am whatever oil... because the 99.99% of the others running mobil 1... failed. wtf
I can only speak for the engine oil, but if you are willing to pay the premium price for Amsoil you will find that it is an excellent oil. Excellent enough to justify the price difference between it and cheaper Grp III oils like M1, PP, etc (although in all fairness M1 0-40 hasn't been confirmed as having switched to a grp III basestock to the best of my knowledge, simply conjectured)? That is for you to decide.
Just to clarify, I'm not wanting to start a discussion on which oil is better and why... there's plenty of threads on the various forums to get your head spinning.
I just want to make sure I wouldn't be harming the car by using the various products noted above. Although technically, if you're not using the best, then you are harming you car... anyways...
One point I found was the "anti frothing" attributes of the Mobil 1 and how that's a good thing for a car with multiple oil pumps. I'll reread the other threads to get a better handle on that... seems the tranny and brake fluid are ok, but will keep looking.
