Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, Just had Intersport and Euro Pros team up to do some mods on my '03 996TT. Mods included CF hood w/pins, GT2 decklid, and Cup wing, 235-35/315-25 PS2s on 19" BBS RS GT wheels, OMP Quick Release whl, Rennline floor mats, gutted interior incl. delete sunroof motor & seal up roof, front wiper mod, and rear wiper delete. Many thanks to Art, Charlie, and Dogan at Intersport Performance in McLean, Va for their superior master craftsmenship and to Jack at Euro Pros in Gaithersburg, MD for taking body work to an artistic level. Next project is a GT2 front bumper w/CF lip spoiler, Racer's Edge solid suspension kit, and Fabspeed cat bypass. Yeah, I know the CF spoiler has a short life span, esp. when it meets up with a speed bump. Oh well, it does look cool though. Woohoo! Burn Rubber!! Linda '03 996TT (Previous surgeries incl. EVOMS ecu reflash, Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust, headers, 200 cell cats, CAI & BMC filter, muffler bypass, PSS9s, H&R sways, DAS Sport Weekender roll bar, Simpson racing harnesses, & Recaro Pole Position seats.) '03 C4 Cab (Gone to new home in '06) P.S. Sorry the pic quality is not that good. I picked up my car and then it rained. Naturally.

POST 2Original post

Welcome to Rennlist, Linda. Love the TT! The guys at Intersport are great -- been taking my car there ever since the factory warranty expired.

POST 4Original post

Wow, she must fly. Building a hard core track car? Think I've seen your car in Kentlands area pre-cup wing & CF hood. Jack @ Euro Pros is great guy.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Kolshak, I see we both like Lapis Blue. Yeah, I head up to the Kentlands area occasionally. It's a nice weekend drive. Since this is my only car, it's doing double duty as a daily driver and track car. It would hurt me too much to leave the car in the garage during the week. I want to drive it as often as possible. Speaking of which, it'll soon be time for you to put the top down. Enjoy! Linda

POST 6Original post

Hey Linda, Welcome aboard. Serious bit of kit Nice!

POST 7Original post

Linda good to see another RL'r in the area.... I'll be having intersport install a supercharger soon so it's good to hear positive feedback...hope to catch you around town Mick

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, Paul. Love the color of your 996! Mick, I'm sure you'll really like the supercharger. Burn rubber, guy! Linda

POST 11Original post

Wow extensive mods and the car looks "the business". You need a fire suppresion system next.

Isn't that what the big red thing in the picture is for?

POST 13Original post

no - that is just a hand-held fire bottle. Supression system is a must when you have gone that far down the path IMHO. Try reaching around the side of your seat when you are strapped into that race seat with harness on and just hit the wall... Those are the times you appreciate purpose-built equipment like a real fire system with huge red button in easy reach when fully buckled in. Have been on the side of the track in a field of smoke holding a little fire bottle like that waiting for the corner workers and wondering if I would be on fire in a few moments. Been there, done that, and simple answer is the right system. That car HAS to be fun Linda and Charlie is a great technician and loves his work. He knows how to put a car together that is for sure.

Gotcha. Thanks Bill.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Bill and Programmatore, Thanks for the good advice. I'll get that taken care of pronto! Linda

POST 16Original post

No problem. Always for promoting safety and I bet you move pretty quickly with that monster! OG Racing is near you so you may want to give them a ring and/or take a look at the website to get some ideas on cost and application. If price is no object the carbon fiber bottles are the lightest and you should get one that sprays the engine, passenger compartment, and the front trunk/fuel compartment. Best bet is to go with the largest bottle as that will ensure that all three are covered in case you need it. This is the one that i had in 10lb form. http://ogracing.com/catalog/2-Car/30...AL-FIRE-SYSTEM It is halon but there are other choices as well. Check out this page for more information on Aqueous Film Forming Foam type of suppression. Makes a massive mess but you are not on fire so it all equals out http://www.ompracing.it/prodotti.htm...ngelanguage=en No matter what your research check with Charlie on what he would like for your car. The safer we are the more comfortable we can be going fast!

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow, Bill, you sure do know your stuff! I'll make sure and follow up with Charlie. Many thanks again.

POST 18Original post

Your car frightens me. That's a serious machine you got there.. very nice.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, ElTorrente. Actually, it frightens me too sometimes. Just when I think I've got it figured out, it shows me another side of its personality. Linda

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

P.S. ElTorrente: Your car looks brand new. Beautiful!
