Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Disconnected the main multi-pin harness directly from the Bosch 5.7 ABS pump module in the frunk for several minutes.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect main multi-pin harness directly' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'issue' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean /corrosion-free' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Module Masters repaired two ABS modules for me years ago and I was happy with their service, warranty and results.

Suspected cause
If u unplug the abs sensors and it still reads at max then the abs unit is probably the issue.

Upon reconnecting, all 4 channels instantly returned to 218.73 mph.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

ABS/PCM module is reading all four individual wheel speed channels at 218.73 Mph with the car parked and handbrake up. There are no active DTC's in the ABS or CVM modules.
Things I have tried, capacitive drain, cycled system to try and reset it by driving in a straight line at low speed and then stopping and idling for 2 minutes.

Disconnected the front driver side wheel speed sensor harness (found crumbling plastic housing and isolated bare pins). Separating pins had no effect on the 218.73 mph reading.
I was told that the Bosch 5.7 electronic ABS module can develop an internal ground/ bond to ground on the board or in the unit that can cause it to send out a default of 218.73mph
Before unbolting the ABS module and sending it out for a rebuild (e.g., CheapABS / Module Master, etc) has anyone encountered this exact 218.73 mph 4-wheel reading caused by something outside the Bosch unit itself (such as a specific hidden chassis ground point, instrument cluster CAN gateway drop, or DME speed frequency feed)? Any alternative tests to verify before sending it out?
Any help is appreciated.
Have not experienced that failure but see if you can find out whether 218 mph is equal to 255 bit in a register in any relevant ecu. That could point to the culprit.
Terribly long shot but wanted to mention it nonetheless.
218.73 mph ~= 352 kph. Not sure that matters but there it is.
Module Masters repaired two ABS modules for me years ago and I was happy with their service, warranty and results.
Thanks for the ideas. I will start looking in other modules are there any that would make sense to start with? My thought would be that the other modules would be getting the speed information from the ABS controller but that could be flawed if the speed sensor signal goes to another ECU or module first and then goes to the abs controller.
Good to know about Module Masters and having a good experience with them. I just don't know if that will fix the issue.
Abs sensors go straoght to the abs unit. If u have tc its either t'ed or is pulled from the abs computer, cant remember which.
If u unplug the abs sensors and it still reads at max then the abs unit is probably the issue.
