Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all - Have a flat and went to take the wheel off and noticed there is a strange lug bolt... Went to the dealership, and they say they don't make the lug wrench anymore. Does anyone know what this is and where to get one online, maybe? ff and noticed there is a strange lug bolt... Went to the dealership, and they say they don't make the lug wrench anymore. POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Actually, think I found it: https://mcgard.com/customer-service/...rt-online-now/

POST 3Original post

You think you found it but how will you know which one is yours. I bet they have many different key patterns. you will need to find the one the exactly matches yours. Did you check in the area around your spare tire for the original adapter? or your glove box? Mcguard is just one of many companies that sell locking wheel lug nuts. A quicker solution will be to have your local tireshop see if they can remove it. They will destroy them but they will get them off. it is not a pretty solution. is your 2000 911 new to you? are you able to contact the previous owner?

POST 4Original post

If you definitely don't have the original key tucked away somewhere (or some documentation with the key code on it), I'd suggest trying a few other OPCs. If you can find a service department that has a master set of keys for your model/age of car, they'll be able to try them all til they find the one that fits your bolts. That will give you the code to order a new key. Assuming the existing bolts are not aftermarket. This post is from someone who had the same issue with a 1998 993: Lost locking wheel nut key | Porsche 911 UK Forum A tyre shop will most likely use something like this (UK Amazon link): THINKWORK Bolt Extractor Set, 18 Pieces Impact Bolt & Nut Remover Set, Stripped Lug Nut Remover, Extraction Socket Set for Removing Damaged, Frozen, Rusted, Rounded-Off Bolts, Nuts & Screws : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools THINKWORK Bolt Extractor Set, 18 Pieces Impact Bolt & Nut Remover Set, Stripped Lug Nut Remover, Extraction Socket Set for Removing Damaged, Frozen, Rusted, Rounded-Off Bolts, Nuts & Screws : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools Easy enough job if you don't mind getting a bit rough with your car. Hammer them on and then use a long wrench or an impact driver to extract the bolt. These particular sockets might not fit the clearance of your wheel lugs, but I think it's useful to have a set of these in the workshop anyway.

POST 5Original post

Is this on a 996 911? Might want to ask your question over here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum-60/ They might have a better answer.

POST 6Original post

Any independent wheel and tire shop can extract these. They are useless because anyone who wants to steal your wheels can extract them. The only shop that WON'T extract them is the dealer. You can also DIY with a set of Lug Nut Extractors
