First I want to say I am writing this post in a lot of pain (even though I am on meds and at home), and so I will keep this short. But I did want to do this thread once I could as you are my Rennlist family and I did not want to keep you in the dark.
I was involved in a solo accident over the weekend. I was the only one in the car at the time which is good. I cannot go into details at this moment because I am going through the insurance claim process, but it sounds like it is a total loss
The good news is that I have no broken bones but I do have severe bruising on my left side and my left arm is cut-up some what (probably from the side air-bag).
Here is a picture of the car on the flat-bed (it does not show all of the damage, but every panel on the car is damaged including the roof):
I will get through this and it is only a car and I am happy to be alive. My wife and friends have been very supportive throughout this ordeal and I thank them with all my heart.
Note: you cannot see it in the picture, but in the lower corner of the drivers door where it is wrinkled pretty bad, a piece of the fence had gone through the door, fortunately the seat stopped it from going through me although it did push the seat over a couple of inches and the impact of that was the cause of the major bruising etc. to my hip.
I will keep everyone posted.
One thing for sure, a Porsche is built strong and safe and I feel if I was in any other car I would not be writing this thread today!!!
HOLY CRAP!!!! Steven...glad to hear you are ok. Wow...man I am really sorry for you. Fill us in on the details once everything is taken care of. BE SURE TO GET THOSE MODS OFF AND SELL THEM.
On a funny note...at least the flatbed was speed yellow too. (sorry...I tried.)
C.
Stephen
So very, very sorry. As everyone said, I'm glad you are alive! I can't tell you how much your input has helped me in the past.
Hang in there and remember, stay on the pain meds. That's 4 every 1-2 hours
Steve
I am so sorry for your loss but very glad to hear you were not seriously hurt. In time, I am sure you will be back in the saddle again.
You are lucky, or say blessed, that the post missed you!
It must have been hard to post that picture.
Get well soon and do keep us informed in your progress (your recovery). Glad you were in your P-car.
Ludwig
Ouch!! To survive that crash is a testament to the P-car and to your body's strenght and resiliency. Very glad you're not seriously hurt, and we're all wishing you a very speedy recovery. Best wishes!!
I was on the scene shortly after the accident, I must say Steven is a very lucky man!, Things could have gone much worse. I am very glad he was not seriously injured. His beautiful car will be missed, but I can only hope something better will be coming his way!
Just relax, stay on your meds, and get better, Steven. And call me if there is anything you need.
What a shock to see your SY Porsche after your incident. The good news is that you were spared significant injury because your P car took the brunt of it. Hope to see you back with an even better example and full recovery. What a bummer.
Sorry to see that man. I'm glad you are OK. One of the nicest looking Pcars on the list.
Work the insurance over...don't let them settle. That car was a rare example in top notch shape. One of the most desirable ones around.
and just an fyi...996TTs seem to priced very low these days.
Get well..
Even thought you're a Scouse supporter I'm glad to hear you're OK
. Hey, I know of a seal grey 996 that's looking for a new home.... J/K, I couldn't kick a man when he's down. Hope the aches & pains don't linger too long.
Same here Man, I just want to wish you a very rapid recovery and so you can get back in another P-car again. I also felt pain that your beautiful SY car has so many dents and bruises. It was thanks to your car that I decided to install the GT3 aero-kit and also the 2 little GT trims on the rear bumpers of mine. Best of luck to you, but looks like you'd be back in no time. Cheers.
Wow Stephen that is a butt ugly looking accident.
Really glad that you are OK and I'll bet we will be seeing you in another P-car really soon!
Take care!
Steven,
I feel your pain as I just went through this in May. I'm still recovering (Physically)and only recently replaced the 911. You are correct, it's a car and it will be replaced. I'm glad you aren't hurt badly.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery,
Pete
Damn speed, glad to hear you're ok and nobody else was involved. After all it is only metal and it serves to remind us that these are very safe cars. Will you be looking for a not-so-speedy color next possibly a demure silver or black?
Keep us updated
It seems that on almost every sad occasion where one of these cars gets wrecked in a bad way, that had it been most any other car the driver would have sustained worse injuries........a real testament to the solid safety design of Posrche!
Steven- I am SOOOOOOOO SORRY. I too can fully relate to what you are going through as I went through a very similar ordeal in late 06 with my 00 Aero. It truly pains me to see a photo of a similar 996 on a flat bed like that. Thank God you walked away relatively unhurt as that is what matters.
You will be back and we all look forward to what your next project will be.
Good luck with all your financial dealings having to do with the Pcar.
Steven, I'm sorry to hear that you were injured and are in pain. The good news is that you survived. I hope you recover quickly. That was a beautiful car...I'm sure the next one will be equally impressive. It is a great time to buy. You could always use this as an opportunity to upgrade to a turbo. If the insurance offers to sell it back, you might do well parting it out. Good luck with the financial aspect.
They are amazingly safe cars (Porsches in general). I'm glad it did a good job saving your life - even if it loses its life...
Have a speedy, demonic recovery!
So sorry to hear about this. Get well, breathe, be grateful.
Now my attempt at a lame joke to cheer you up:
If you really did total your beautiful ride, then the resale value of mine just went up .00057% Thanks, man.
Really sorry to hear about your car, but also glad to hear that you faired much better than the car.
Wishing a speedy recovery and timely re-in statement in the P-car family
Oh no. That sucks. Glad you're alright.
You're a champ for posting a pic, you know we would have all been hassling you otherwise, j/k.
Take a break, feel better, and saddle up again soon.
Peace,
Dave
Steven,
First and foremost, I am glad you were not seriously injured..... or worse!
Second of all, take your meds and recoupe fully. Don't push it, OK?
Third, what a shame about your car. It was a bad ***, beautifully modded dream! I hated to see THAT pic (and you KNOW how much I like pics)!
Forth, while you are recovering, think about what you want next. A later model 996, a 996TT, or even a 997 C2 or C2S. Take your time and decise exactly what you want and then go get it. You will have a "blank canvas" and can start modding all over again!
Take care, my friend and keep in touch.
My friend, I was so sorry to log in today and see this thread. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. So glad you are going to be ok. I crashed my Hayabusa this last fall and lived (proper gear) so I know what it feels like.
Hang in there.
Paul
Whoa, very glad that you are alright, especially after seeing pics of the car. Take care of yourself and best wishes in a strong recovery, take your time and don't push. Keep us updated when you can.
WHAT THE HELL, I just read your post!!!!!
I am so sorry to see that, but very happy that your iin one piece man! Keep us all posted on the outcome and take care of yourself.
I just woke-up from one of my med-induced naps and read all of the posts in this thread.
Thank you everyone for your kind words it is greatly appreciated.
I am moving forward, well I will once I settle with insurance that is, and I see another Porsche in the near future, although the wife is not too keen on the idea at this moment and that is totally understandable.
It hurts me to put up pics of the car but it is my way of heeling and again being thankful of the Porsche engineers and there attention to details when it comes to safety. Here is a picture of the fence post that found it's way through the door and the severe negative camber of the rear wheel:
BTW...all wheels were damaged, all body parts are damaged, nothing to retrieve at all that is easy to remove. Front-left A-arm broken, rear-left suspension broken and the gear box cracked and leaking. The list goes on so unfortunately nothing to sell on Rennlist from this...sorry guys
I cant say anything else that the others didnt. I am glad your OK and yea its a shame about your car, it was a real head turner. Its times like this we should reflect and see how short ones life can be. The car did its job and saved your life, you should thank it buy replacing it with something at the very least as nice. Get well soon and hope to see you in a a new ride soon
So sorry to hear about the accident, but as others have mentioned, it certainly could have been (much) worse. Get well soon...and keep us posted as to the replacement!
Steven, with that amount of negative camber in the rear, you can probably move up to 315 tires and still get no rubbing.
Just a small attempt to, hopefully, make you smile a little.
Wow - that's horrific. One of my favorite cars on Rennlist bit the dust, but thankfully you didn't go with it.
Hopefully you'll be doing better soon and we'll get to see and hear the rest of this story... looks the car did some pretty good rolls to get that kind of damage... makes me thankful to drive a car as safe as that.
I remember chatting with you a couple of months back about your car, now we can both look for a SY 996.
All kidding aside, I'm glad you are Well, and will live to enjoy life and another Porsche someday.
sorry to hear about your accident and glad you're ok, i had an accident last yr Feb (the only one in my 20 yr of driving history) where my 01 C2cab got totalled. i was able to replace it with a 99 C2 after a month, it's just a car, easily replaceable, get well soon.
OUCH!!! That hurts, just glad that you are alive and kicking, and it's not your wife who's posting this!
Get well soon!
I thought you sold the baby when I read the thread title....
Get better Steven!! Sorry to read this but very glad the car took the brunt of the damage.
I certainly hope to see you back in another p-car very soon!!
It's good to know you're ok Steven!
Feels weird to see the car all banged up since I saw it in perfect shape just 10 days ago.
Btw I agree with gota911, you better check the alignment.
I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like you've got all of your priorities in place - I'm glad you're not seriously injured.
By the way, I used to live in Oakley. I didn't have the P-Car then - must be fun to drive in that area.
get better soon...a car is just a car..even when it is a Porsche... that fence post image scared the S out of me.
Keep us posted and in the end give us the whole story of what happened.
Steven
I must be getting old, because I imagined for a moment I was you,
and by the time I read Tim's post, I felt like I was going to cry.
Would you agree with me and feel the best is yet to come?
Thanks for calling us family, I think it came from your heart.
John
Just saw the thread. I have nothing to add but best wishes for your complete and quick recovery and my sympathies for the lost car. But everyone has it right: a car is metal; they can make more.
My six year-old looked at the photo of your car on the flatbed and seemed astonished. I asked what he was thinking. He said, "it's got the yellow brakes that make it stop right away, so why did he crash?"
Sorry to hear about the accident Steven.
Good thing you are all right. GL on another Porsche, need to tell the wife that if you were in a Civic during this accident, you may not be here. Safety first.
R.I.P./ SY Aero....
Steven,
I'm very glad you were not seriously injured. From the damage it certainly looks like a major shunt.
Your car was beautiful but it can be replaced and you my friend cannot, so I know everyone here is happy that your car protected you.
Godspeed on your recovery!!
Hey Speed...I wish you a fast recovery and am very happy to hear that you are on your way to a full recovery. Hang in there and take your time recovering....
-Ernesto
Speed, best wishes and speedy recovery. Sorry to hear about your car, it was an idol Rennlist car. I'm sure the replacement will be even better looking
IZ
Minneapolis
Sorry to see your pride & joy in that shape. It was one of the nicer examples, for sure.
Good to hear that you're going to be ok.
Get another P-car so we can meet up at Thunderhill, where the offs aren't usually too nasty.
That must have been a very scary few moments......I hope things work out for the best from here on.
Watch out for those pain pills - they can be more addicting then P-cars.
Feel better.
Steven,
I must say that I am sorry for your loss.
However, it is only a car and the important thing is that you are OK. Get your rest and take your meds. The car can be replaced. May I suggest a speed yellow GT3?
BTW, sorry to hear that there is nothing to salvage from the car. I am in need of a center section for my aerokit rear wing.
Steven: I just saw this thread and can only say how sorry I am for your accident....but the fact that you weren't seriously hurt is the main thing.
I was looking forward to another get together in Rio Vista or there abouts...and I'll just have to wait till you get your next car. I know we talked about another get together, and this is truly sad news.
Mend quickly my man....and hopefully soon we'll see you in a new car. I really did like what you had done to that car. You might consider doing what I did and that was to buy back the car and sold it as a rolling chassis, then used the settlement to jump into a TT. In your case, you had a lot of good mods on there that you could take off and sell...although the pictures don't show all the damage. I'm truly sorry guy.
Chuck
Speed... Glad that you're OK and on the mend. Just remember how much fun you had making the car just like you wanted it and now you get to do it all over again!
GL with the insurance co.
Hey Steven - knowing you you're loving the physical pain part of this event...
It'll all be fine in the end. The car can and will be replaced, sounds like you're a few weeks at the most away from full recovery. Hopefully the insurance will make you whole, but if not you know there's soe smoking deals out there.
I can only imagine the freaking terror you would have gone through to smash your car up that bad though. Everything probably seemed fine until....whoa! slide, rumble, crash, bang, crash, oof, SMASH... F%^$Ck it's been a while for me but looking at those pictures it makes me think back in horro at some of the things I've seen and done over the years.
Holy sh*t.. somehow missed this thread when it started... hope you're starting to feel better, Steven - like everyone, glad to hear the car took the brunt of it, instead of you.
- Nick
Yowza - glad to hear that there's only a little bruising. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a quick return to the driver's seat of a replacement p-car!
Steven,
Just saw this, since I have been off the air for a couple of days. Really sorry to see this, but very happy that you are ok!! Take your time resting up and getting better and make sure you get a new 996 soon... we don't want to see you leave for the 997 board!
All the best man!
Again thanks everyone for there kind words and words of encouragement,it is greatly appreciated...what a great place Rennlist is to create friends
I am doing much better. I am able to get around the house but still in pain and the bruises have spread but that was to be expected.
I am still waiting to settle with the insurance company. After which I will sit down with my wife and talk about the next P car. I know what I want, I just have to figure out how to get it.
"Honey, I've been thinking.......becoz' it was a Porsche, I am still here talking to you today. And for that very reason alone, I will not settle for anything other than a Porsche from now on. I want to be around to share the rest of my life with my beloved wife."
Steven, I'm very glad you are recovering well. I'm sorry about your beautiful car. Hopefully you'll get another Porsche so you will stay on the forum. I'm looking forward to seeing what new ride you end up with!
Getting very close to the settlement. Price has been discussed, just waiting on paperwork. Once I have the check in-hand, then I will be in the market for sure.
So what will the next Speed Demon car be? Well it will be a Porsche and it will be Speed Yellow
hwk72...that is a nice example, however it is an automatic and so I will have to pass...but thanks for sharing.
OK I will have to let everyone know this right now.
Yes I want a GT3...but I cannot afford one even after the settlement etc.
But please do not stop sending me ideas even if they are 75K+ GT3's as you never know.
BTW voudous...thanks for the link. I have added it to my save list within Autotrader
Ok, I am sue you will make out just fine, great time to buy.
I was asking because I saw a black TT on 6speed FS, not sure of your price range, but it grabbed me a bit when I saw it a few weeks ago (don't know anything about it other than the post/pics).
Here is the link just for sh!*s and giggles.
Have fun searching for the replacement. Glad your better now and a step closer to a putting a closing on this
http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/s...d.php?t=113667
Steven...sorry to see the wreck, but glad you are well. While it's unfortunate, it's somewhat reassuring to see how well these cars hold up. Based upon you comments, I'm guessing a fairly heavy collision here....possible roll.
Talk about death metal....or near death metal.......rock on bud.
I'm smelling a C4S in your future...if you can find one in SY of course.
J
Not a GT3....but it is SY and CPO.....sorry if this is outta line. Always negotiable. 32K on the clock and priced under 50K. color console and sports seats with colored seat backs, yellow seat belts...lots of nice bling too.
J

Steve,
I'm always late to the party. Sorry for your loss, but like everyone stated, your health is all that's important. You can always get another speed yellow P to keep you warm at night
Good luck with your new car search! And get to feeling better!
-td
Steven is prejudiced against Blue cars.
If he bought mine, he would have to change his Rennlist ID from
The Speed Demon
to
The Lapis Demon
, and I don't think that has the same ring to it.
Seriously, he has already stated that if he gets another Porsche, it will have to be Speed Yellow.
Well, I'm looking forward to hearing the story of what happened.
As for how to get another car.... well, talk to mfletch - he can give you pointers on rebuilding from cinders.
Me: I am doing much better. Arm is healing pretty well but there will be some scaring. My hip and leg are still bruised and a little sore, but that is going away daily.
Car: Total loss
Insurance: I have just received the settlement paperwork and will return it ASAP so that I can put the money in the bank knowing that I can 'really' look for a car
New Porsche: I have done sore preliminary looking and have a found a few cars, but only a couple that look interesting enough to pursue. Some cars I have found I have shaken my head at and just wondered why (i.e. found a Turbo that was badged a GT2 and had some other GT2 bits put on, but it was not a GT2, yet they were asking a ridiculous price). At this moment I have to stick to a certain budget (60K maximum) and so a GT3 is out of my reach. So I am looking for either a Turbo (2001+) or C4S. It can be a Coupe or Cab, not really worried as neither one will see the track. Yep I am giving up the track desires with my next Porsche, the wife has made it clear that either the Porsche is a true track car (i.e. GT3 - which I know can be driven on the street, or a purposely built track 996) and I drive it on the track, or a street car that both of us can enjoy anytime. Here are the specific's regarding the next 'Speed Demon':
Speed Yellow
Black Interior
6-Speed
Warranty
Other than that, obviously condition (exterior/interior), mileage, maintenance records, accident history, etc. are standard.
So if anyone comes across cars within my requirements please let me know.
My previous comment about maybe a Red or White I have decided against. This is because I would find one and then always want a Speed Yellow. So I must get what I want and not settle for anything else.
Thanks again to all for your posts...I will not be going anywhere even if it takes a few months to find that perfect Speed Demon, so yep you will see me on this forum still.
Thanks.
I found 2 997's SY:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...0&cardist=2455
Question: are 997 C2's Wide Body?
I am really starting to like the wide body look and prefer it now.
Unfortunately I cannot stretch beyond 60K
I wonder how much this private seller would go down on price? Never know ....
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=&cardist=1363
It looks to be a beautiful car.
This too ...
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=&cardist=340
As always thanks Tim for the clarification.
That 997 C2 has already sold before I had a chance to even think about it twice.
Oh well, the search continues.
I have created a AutoTrader account and have saved the ones in this thread and others I found. Thanks and keep them coming.
widebodies will always look better, but the 997 has a more pronounced coke bottle shape a la 993 so it's not a deal killer for me.
just make sure u get one with the factory aerokit. it's a must as your mk1 996 aero looks better than a stock 997. a 997 c4s with factory aerokit has got a killer look. that's the one i'd go for. color backed sport seats. full cf interior. hella tough to find int he used car market the way id want it so u gotta pretty much order one up on your own.
be patient man i know it's hard.. save up some more $ if u have to. i'd rather have a 997 S than a 996 Turbo but know that i'm a lag-hater. the 997 Turbo has lag that i don't like so that should tell u how much i don't like lag ont he 996 tt. 997S though it doesn't have the gt1 engine is sorted out enough and certainly fast enough to get u into plenty o' trouble.
i'm personally going to enjoy my pork4s for a couple more years, but don't get the 996 c4s for $50-60K. you'rek inda in no man's land so i'd rather have u step up than step down. save up some more grizzles. i got love for u so i wanna see you extremely happy.
Steven,
Here are two links. The first one is to a particular car located in Rock Hill, SC which is about 10 miles south of Charlotte, NC. It is listed as a 2004 911 Carrera but is actually a C4S, 12K miles for $54K. It looks pretty good in the ad.
2004 SY C4S
Second link is for a bunch of SY 996's '02 - '04 from cars.com. You might see a couple there that interest you.
996's '02 -'04 SY
997 is wide body only in C4 configuration and turbo and gt3rs. C2 and C2s etc on 997 are narrow body. BUT, the shape is much more like the 993 like Benjamin said. Looks wise, I would go with the 997 any day BUT, for the budget and sheer bang for your buck you cannot overlook a 996TT. Unlike what Benjamin says about turbo lag, some hate it, others live for it. And with some select mods, the car will keep you smiling always. In fact if you like modifying, you will not believe what can be done to the 996TT. Just check out what the guys on 6speedonline do to their cars!!! There are cars pushing way over 800bhp there. Mine was for a time very highly tuned but now is down to a very reliable 600 odd bhp. And its plain FUN!
And the fact remains, you pull up alongside a guy driving a brand new 997NA standard, and you are in your (older) 996TT, and he knows you can spank him silly- the 997 may be newer but it will always in standard form be under the pecking order
You wouldnt believe the number of times I see a stunning 997 driving hard on the road, when I hit my 1.1bar boost and reel him in he will much more often than not suddenly start driving very sedately.... thats quite fun (although admittedly quite childish and meaningless)!!!
Whoa! I remember seeing your Speed Yellow 996 at the Carlsen Porsche/Santana RoW meet. It was one damn nice ride. Sorry about your loss.
It will turn out for the best, trust me. I'm the guy who wrecked his Boxster on the freeway at the meet....I had a 99' 986 2.5L 5spd......I now have a 01' 986 S 3.2L 6-spd. Hehehehehehehehe!
Hang in there and everything will turn out well!
Steve: does your $60K cap include the extra outlay for state tax you'll have to pay? If so, you're close to $5K just in California sales tax unless you can get an invoice that gives you a break....but if you deal thru a dealership, what is.....is. Private party is another matter. If that's the case, you're looking at trying to find something in the $51-53K range to accomodate the tax. Are you considering the X50 or sticking with the TT and flash it? You'd get a better deal on the non X50, but those K24's and the GT2 intercoolers are a nice upgrade that you can include in the purchase price. Right now the bottom is dropping out of the TT market...buyers choice.
That SY turbo you posted looked really nice. All things considered most folks with the 996 are modding them to get more performance out of them...in reality, trying to get as close to a TT in performance as possible. That's what pushed me into the TT after I lost the 996, and I've never looked back....they're so amenable to modding that you can get fantastic gains with very little effort. But you already know all that. I'll be happy to come visit you and let you take my 02TT out for a spin...but there's a downside to that. Once you've done it, you're hooked. Not like a one time weekend "recreational use" of a controlled substance. One "hit" and you're hooked for life.
Hope you continue to mend and are back on your feet with minimal discomfort.
Chuck
Thanks and I do remember that day and a shame about what happened to you then. And yes I am going to hang in there and it will work out nice for me. Going to take my time to find the right car like I did last time.
Chuck,
yep the 60K is the cap out the door so I am really looking at 55K or less as you menioned. But I do have a small fund available, an additional up to 5K, to get me a better car if I need it (but I rather leave that for the mods).
Right now I keep going back and forth in my head regarding if I want
Power
or
Wide-Body
or
Newer
.
Power
= Turbo but that means a car that is usually a 2001 or 2002
Wide-body
= Turbo or C4S. C4S I can creep up to a 2004
Newer
= 2005 for sure and 2006's are starting to appear as well now, but these are C2's (2005 and 2006). Some C2
S
's are starting to creep into my budget as well.
So I am going to be patient about buying the next Speed Demon. It took me several months the last time and unless a deal of the century appears it will be a while before I find the right car again. During that time car prices will continue to go down and so my choices are going to be even better.
I most definately will take you up on your offer to drive your Turbo, but not on any small country roads though OK
I will touch base with you about that.
Wide body is the way to go. I don't know if I've only seen C4S's in the past few days but...I swear that's all I've seen......Psychological or not. I love wide bodies... No fat jokes folks...
Steven,
Did you ever condiser the 40th anniversary model? I know that they are not speed yellow
, but they are a pretty good bargain right now considering that they have the powerkit so you get 350+ HP. I have seen several below your $60K price point.
Steven,
Here is a 2006 with Turbo wheels. I did a nationwide search and this one came up in Charlotte, kinda strange. 16K miles. Not sure the Toyota place realizes what they have. You could try to low ball them. No aero kit though.
2006 SY 997
Speed,
60K is a pretty good war chest to buy another Pcar. My sense is to wait, if you can bear it, until after this summer. That must seem like an eternity, but when the 09's come out, all the prior years take a hit resale wise. In the mean time you can save a few more $$$. For $70K you can get into a real nice 996TT. The other option might be a 996 GT3 if you can find a clean one that hasn't been tracked to death. You might not have as many ponys as a TT but all the suspension is done.
why not wait another 4 years?
the scenario you're recommending is like hold off on banging that fine coed cuz she'll be more tan by the end of summer... ain't no rennlist guy gonna be able to wait long and speedy is already on a one track mind full steam ahead to get his **** in another 911.
I agree that $60K is a good deal of money and my recommendation to him was save a few more Gs and get his sore butt into a 997S.
Yep I am going to take my time but I do not want to wait too long before I get another Porsche, I mean I waited a while for the first one to come into my life after I decided that muscle cars were not my desires anymore. And then once I decided exactly what I wanted based upon what I could afford, it took just over 6 months to find one. So it might take another 6 months to find the one I want which is perfectly fine with me.
If I can get a SY 997S in the next 6 months within my budget, doubtful though, then I will. The other option is to put the Aero Kit (i.e. GT3) on a SY 997 which is more realistic (that is no different than my '99 C2 with the Aero Kit). Sure the 997 doesn't have the extra pep of the 997S, but that is OK if that is what I can afford. But time will tell.
Steven: I see a 99 SY coupe on sale over on RennTech in the for sale section...looks like your old car. I think the guy wants a around $33K for it.....but it's only got 29K miles on it.
Steven,
Sorry about the accident. I always remind myself that one of the reasons I have a Porsche is (hopefully) to protect me if I ever get in a bad accident.
Here's my old car (old as in I had it for two years and just upgraded to an 02 C4S):

Great looking car. Several tasteful mods. Drives perfectly. Thought you might be interested.
Best wishes...
Hi Steve, I saw this on ebay and thought of you. It is EVOMS development car for the SC...in your favorite color. Ebay item 300204233088
This one wouldn't be bad either....120229169685
Mark, thanks for the pics. The top one is way too much money for what it is even if it does have a new engine. The lower one is much more interesting, is it a Turbo?
Michael, thanks and all is well with me now, physically that is, mentally, that never changes of course.
No update on the next car, but with the current housing price declines, we have had to re-think about our priorities as to where our money is to go, so I think it will be a lot longer than anticipated before I am sitting in another toy. In the meantime I am working on the Mustang to get it running, and then eventually sell it.
Again, thank you to everyone for there messages and input. This has been quite an expereience for me, one that I have not experienced before, and one I do not want to experience again.
