Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have reset the pipes as close as possible and checked the clamping.
Leading evidence: 'Check clamping' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check clamping' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I think the only thing can so this is that the wrap (I don't know technical name) has to tighten around itself.

Mine went in very tight and even with manual tightening, I did not experience this problem.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I jsut saw a post and replys on this topic days ago and failed to pay enough attention. Now I can not fird the comments and I am not even sure it was this board.
Anyway I put on a pair of GHL mufflers tonight and while the pipes seemed to line up well, and I tighted the clamps pretty snug, both sides leak when cold and sound like .....
What's the deal ? I drove it to heat it up good hoping to "seat" the pipes in. Do I now tighten the heck out of the clamps? Is this normally an issue with all xhausts or just GHL as it was GHL I read about, somewhere?
Bill
No I am not sure I installed it properly or I wouldn't ask of course. But how the heck can you do it wrong? I slid the clamp and wrap to the side, lined up the muffler inlet and slid the wrap and clamps back in place. I tried to line the wrap and clamps up in the same orientation as they were and tightened them pretty well I thought. I tighted the clamps prior to final tightening of the muffler mounting so and not force any misalignment. So what did I do wrong?
I am just going to go through the procedure again tonight. I think the only thing can so this is that the wrap (I don't know technical name) has to tighten around itself. Maybe I need to take greater pains to be sure it isn't getting a wrinkle somehow and leaving a channel for the leak. I could feel a pretty strong stream at first which of course was slowed down considerably when the pipe were at operating temperature.
If anyone knows where I went wrong I would appreciate the comments.
Thanks for the consideration.
Bill
I have reset the pipes as close as possible and checked the clamping. Retightened everything and crank the bolts down with an 18 inch breaker the second time.
Still leaks.
I am thinking the clamp wraping must have a wrinkle and that I should replace it. I am also thinking to take it Park Place Porsche here in Dallas and tell them to fix the damn thing. I am disgusted.
