Good idea, I will check under the hood later on today for the codes.

The service guys will occasionally need to disconnect the battery when they service the cars, so it's convenient for them, and for you, to have the code hand written on the options sticker.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have just replaced my battery and my stereo is prompting for the codes. I remember reading somewhere on here that all you needed to do was provide the dealership the vin# and they can give you the code to the stereo of your car but when I called HBL porsche, they told me to bring my car in so they can take out my radio to see the serial on the back of the radio in order provide me the codes. Does this sound right? How did you guys get the code for the radio when you replaced your battery? TIA.
There is a way to fins the serial without taking it out, unfortunately I forget. When I needed my codes, I had to go to the dealership and show ID and proof of ownership of the car just to get the codes. They wouldn't do it over the phone.
Later I found on the sticker with the options codes under the hood, someone had written the code there in marker and I just didn't put 2 and 2 together.
Check your packet of manuals that came with the car. There should be a little card there with the radio code.
If you can't find the little card, most dealerships will write the code on the options sticker under the front hood. The service guys will occasionally need to disconnect the battery when they service the cars, so it's convenient for them, and for you, to have the code hand written on the options sticker.
Good idea, I will check under the hood later on today for the codes. Thanks.
I wish man, its sunday today and Im here at work...enjoy though, its wonderful weather out there today.
I will take a look at my manual and look for the little card, hopefully I will find it somewhere with one of the suggestions here. If not, I'll take it to the dealership as last resort. Thanks.
You can get the serial number without removing the radio. See this post from Loren on RennTech
