Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

On the question about how I get the car up in the air to clean it, I use a military surplus aircraft levitator to lift it up.
Leading evidence: 'Use military surplus aircraft levitator' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'good idea' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean bottom of my cab twice a year' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I used Simple Green and a brush then hosed it off with the pressure washer.

Suspected cause
It is probably a good idea to wear gloves when using it.

Suggestion
I clean the bottom of my Cab twice a year, and after the initial Cosmoline removal 5 years ago, it is a simple spray and wipe operation.

Suggestion
You will need to do this several times and use a stiff bristle brush to loosen up and remove all of the Cosmoline, especially if it has been on the car for over 6 months.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No I am not...I tend to lay on the floor and hose the bits with low pressure hose and soap. I noticed that the suspension linkages are really dirty. I'm always concerned since the degreaser has tendency to dissolve some needed grease points on the engine. Thanks for your help.
I used Simple Green and a brush then hosed it off with the pressure washer. It did a good job and there is no need to worry about damaging anything. I think driving through a rainstorm probably shoots more water up there than washing would.
You can use degreaser or mineral spirits. which ever is necessary to cut thru the dirt. then simple green to clean it and maintain it after that.
Dont put anything in places that are electrical .
If your goal is to remove the Cosmoline that is on the bottom of your engine, you will need stronger solvents and water spray than Simple Green and a hose.
I would recommend using Mineral Spirits sprayed on the Cosmoline and allowed to soak in, then blasting it off with a pressure washer. You will need to do this several times and use a stiff bristle brush to loosen up and remove all of the Cosmoline, especially if it has been on the car for over 6 months.
However, once you have it off, then you can use Simple Green to maintain the bottom of the car and get the road grime off.

One other note is that using metal polish on the headers and mufflers works wonders.
Orient, nice job....that looks fantastic. Nice levitating. Carb cleaner works well on the really dirty areas. Obviously, it will probably damage rubber, plastic, & paint. It is probably a good idea to wear gloves when using it. When you can taste something as soon as it gets on your hands, it's pretty nasty stuff.
You engine looks awesome! Great job, but I have a couple of questions:
1) Is Cosmoline applied by the factory?
2) If so, is is a good idea to remove it? Doesn't that lead to rust, etc?
Just asking as a nOOb.
Thanks.
Yes, applied to prevent corrosion when shipped overseas, by the factory. It is a stiff waxy sealant. Not on any alloy parts, but possibly on any painted metal. Orient..I give up...what in heck is holding your car up?
Note that the aviation community avoids the standard Simple Green as it eats aluminum. There is an aircraft version of Simple Green that is not supposed to harm aluminum....you might consider using that instead of the standard formulation for under your car. You can order it through Aircraft Spruce (aircraftspruce.com) as well as through most local pilot stores. There are other non-aviation "citrus" products that are supposed to be gentle as well.
I have not had a problem with Simple Green on Aluminum, but then again the concentration that I use is 20:1, and I wash it off immediately after scrubbing an area down.
