Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any suggestions? It's not horrible, just a lot worse than before. The group came across a ton of gravel and sand in the North Georgia Mtn's. Great ride, but all of us got badly sandblasted. Is there not a product or service out there that can aid in the repair of sandblasted windscreens? Any input would be great.

POST 2Original post

I believe there are polishing services out there to remove minor irregularities. Keep in mind that most states require auto insurers to cover damage to windshields at 0 deductible. I'd contact your agent to see what is covered. I had a crack about a year ago and had it replaced with all OEM components at no cost.

POST 3Original post

It was pretty bad up there. I haven't taken a close look at my car yet but my windshield was getting hit alot. Glad I had the bra on.

POST 4Original post

What cup size are you?? Double D perhaps...LOL Sorry, but you did set yourself up.

POST 5Original post

Good rule of thumb: if you can catch it with your nail, it will not polish out without distorting the view. If it doesnt catch your nail, the imperfections should polish out.

That's what I have heard too. Lots of junk on the roads this time of year. While it will not help the existing defects, has anyone had that windshield treatment (forgot the name) that the dealers kind of push when you purchase the car? Supposed to resist this type of problem.

POST 8Original post

I just had a new front windshield installed. It was surprisingly reasonable...about $375 from Sunset (plus $93 shipping and $200 installation).

POST 9Original post

chad - i have a card at home for a local group that will process / polish your windshield. i watched them do this to a few cars; it really seemed to work very well. i'll bring the card thursday.

Definitely Kevin. Thanks. It's not horrible but simply much worse than before. You'll see on Thurs. Thanks! C.

POST 12Original post

Let me know what you find out Chad, I got a couple of good ones too

POST 13Original post

I would really suggest the windshield replacement option. I've had it done on several cars w/my insurance company and it was very easy...and free
