Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check fuses' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuse(s) in the back of the cdr/pcm' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

When you said you checked the fuses (fusepanels), did you also remove the CDR/PCM from the dash and check the fuse(s) in the back of the CDR/PCM?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yes, I checked the fuses. I replaced the battery and all went well, but then I noticed the stereo is dead. Any suggestions (other than the dealership's tech guys)?
Sorry, I shoudl have called it your headunit, commonly referred to as an in dash stereo.
PCM is the headunit in a double DIN form factor
CDR is the headunit in a single DIN form factor.
Either are removed from the dashboard with Becker radio removal keys.
Take a butter knife and pry up on the two ends of the horse shoe trim around the unit. It will just pop off. The cigarette lighter connerctor has a tab to push to remove the rest on the right side just pull off. You only need to remove one side of connectors. My nav unit has torx screws (4) holding it in and then the unit comes foward with a strong pull. The fuse is in the back of the HU.
Steve,
Thank you. I'lllet you know how the surgery goes.
I truly appreciate all the assistance that everyone has offered - this is why rennlist is so great. I had no clue what had happened to the stereo, but I know that a fast post on rennlist ususlaly leads to a cause and a cure.
