Suggestion
It was a very clean 996 and was very tightly priced.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just got one a month ago, and I'm still not sure it isn't a dream.
Well, I have been dreaming about owning a porsche ever since I used to watch my friends dad pick him up from school in his old classic 911. The dream never died and I used to always tell my buddies, and then later my wife, and then my two kids that one day I was gonna by myself a Porsche. Well, I am now the proud owner of a 2003 Porsche 911 coupe, black, aerokit, custom wheels, tiptronic. I was grinning from ear to ear signing that big check and I am sure the only time I will feel actually feel happy about buying a car. When I drove away from the dealership, the salesman went to shake my hand. I said "man, this is not a shaking hands moment, give me a big HIGH FIVE" It was a great day, almost surreal and to actually see it in my garage was awesome. I snuck away late last night and drove around for 2 hours when my wife went to sleep. Anyway, I am glad to be a part of the porsche owner's community.
Congratulations proud owner!! Nice move. Love to see my wifes face if she caught me sneaking back
Really...just a late night drive is all
My German Sheppard would ruin any chances of me pulling that off.
Would have to take her with me (the dog
)
Looking forward to those pics, you are posting some riight?
congrats on your purchase...i know how you feel. i've been a p-car owner now for several years and the thrill of ownership has not diminished one bit. on the contrary i love it more and more. the styling of these cars is incredible. the fun for you is just beginning. enjoy in good health and for many years to come. post some pics when you get them..
i know i already posted here but i just wanted to write out that it's really awesome your passion and happiness here... it's infectious and i admit i am taking things for granted a bit, but realize deep down i do share the same level of gratitude as you.
it was an unreal feeling driving off in my 911 last year around spring timeframe... my first 911 and hopefully not my last. what a great thing you're experiencing.
really really happy for you man! thx for sharing
Wow!
I'm so happy for you..
It's something everyone dreams about but few acheive.
I'm on my umpteenth 911 and I still sneak out to the garage at night and marvel at the lines. That will never change.
The 911 is art to me.
Welcome to the club

Cool pics - congratulations.
When I got mine, we had stopped at the dealership on a whim after looking at a dud at an Audi dealership. There it was, Lapis Blue - my first color choice, with only 14,000 miles on the clock.
I pretty much sat in the corner with my mouth shut as the WereWife negotiated a deal . I had no idea she was so sick of hearing me whine "I want a Porsche" that she was ready to crack open the checkbook. Go figure.
She got her price, the salesman handed me the keys and I don't think I breathed as I drove home. I was afraid I'd wake up from a pretty cool dream.
I regularly find reasons to just sit in the car, breathing in the essence of Porsche.
Drive it, love it, live the dream. Welcome to the best club on the planet.
Gnations,
Congrats on the new ride. I just purchased mine in November and still feel the same way you do. As you can tell by now, you get hammered from the pic maniacs on this board. I just posted my pics today.
Anyway enjoy your new car and be safe.
Congratulations and welcome to the club. Yes they can be a little tough on the initiation at first but all intentions are ment well. Good luck and enjoy your new racing machine.

g,
Your new p-car looks suspiciously like one I recently looked at in Houston at Porsche of North Houston. It was a very clean 996 and was very tightly priced. I would have jumped on it were it not a tip.
Well, I am pretty sure that is the one that you looked at. I am not sure what you mean by "tightly priced". Is that good or bad?
I went down to the dealership really to show my wife the difference between year models - 993 vs 996. The next thing you know, my wife wanted to drive it and she came back all smiles. I inquired about the price which was different than what was listed on the internet? i.e. lower. We talked a little more and the sales guy says "we might be able to do better given its the end of the month" I didnt really respond to that and said ok and we left. The whole time in the car ride back my wife was like c'mon let's go back there and get it. I got home and started checking on prices on similar models and miles and checked kelly blue book. I called the sales guy back and told him I was coming back in, i reminded him of our conversation about him possibly doing better and told him to talk to his sales manager and to have his best price ready when I got there. The rest was history. As far as the tiptronic goes, that was insisted upon by my wife. All in all it was a great experience and a very easy process. My wife is driving it more than I, my kids request taking them to school in it and picking them up in it, I love the thing and am so glad I pulled the trigger. It is also cool sharing here<, and people being all happy for everyone who finally gets their dream ride. Good luck on your search.
Great looking cars. I'm getting ready to trade my 993 on a 996 also.
I don't know what it is, but the 993 seems a bit sexier to me; so it's hard to give it up!
