Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

What are you guys talking about, the 997's got the round lights, blinkers on the bumpers, and a bigger hip, ofcourse it's the REAL sports car now, what else would you need to know ?, test-driving is for MORONS.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Cant believe that all the guy did was SIT in it and give it a 5-star rating! What about performance? What about handling? What about how it FEELS?
Oh! Stupid me I forgot. A sports car is all about how good you LOOK in the car and whether the women will fall all over you and has nothing to do with how it moves. I see now that I have been doing it all wrong all these years.

P.S. OK-maybe a little bit is about how good you look and whether women fall all over you. Hasnt happened to me yet perhaps that is because Im ugly
In defense of...
Having owned mostly 993's and now loving my new 996, I can see both views. When I had my 993, it was difficult to be proud of the porsches 911 996 flagship because it shared 50% of the parts and appearance with its kid sister, the Boxster. Both are great cars in their own class. The Boxster is the best convertible in its price class; it started the retro-look car revolution that is still apparent today with the Thunderbird and Mustang. At that time I did not want a 996, mostly because it lacked the curviness of the 993 but mostly because the average person confused it for a less expensive Boxster. If I was going to pay $20k more for it, it should be the ultimate and unique sports car that the 911 always had been. However, it always did grind me that the 996 was faster and ohh the 996 turbo was the sexiest looking 996 out there.
Eventually one must put away the nylon records and move on to present day innovations. Now that I have a 996, I am enthralled with its ride, speed and comfort that are a step up from the 993. It still bothers me when I get into a Boxster and notice it shares the interior/headlights. Probably the same way Trans am owners felt when they climbed into a Camaro. Because of this, I agree with Autospies that porsche put in a subpar effort when designing the '996 look' by splitting their efforts between the Boxster and the 996. They are marks above general motors, they should not act like them. The guys at Autospies heavy pro-german cars, they award sheilds on their perception of quality. You have to admit from a sitting in and inspection of interiors, the Range Rover does give an impression of high quality. Like a good dog, it will roll over on you, but you have to admire the interior while you are flipping. Unlike us, not everyone needs speed.
In the end the newer porsches will always eventually win. That is because they keep getting faster and better. And Autospies.com wins too because they got you to do more advertising for them by referring more people to their web site.
The moron that wrote that said a lot more negative things about the 996 than that it shared parts with the 986. The irony is that he claims to have owned 4 996's. If it was as big a POS as he describes, why would he go through four of them?
Yes, he'll get some more hits this week due to my posts, but it'll be a short-term phenomenon as his credibility has been destroyed and his automotive knowledge appears to be much less than his average reader.
What an idiot...I love most of yall out there but its morons like that that make others hate Porsche owners...
Must have little mans syndrome or something! Maybe he was beat up by the neighborhood girls when he was little!
Why do so many of you get offended by other people's opinion. Buy and drive what you like, I could care less about what others say about my car. They like it ? Great! They don't? Oh, tough. If you have to force others to like your car, aren't you just not sure about your own choice ?
Cloud,
Valid, but missing the point. A sports car should me mostly about performance - how does it feel to drive?
If he had driven the car and written it off as a POS or loved it then that is his opinion and welcome to it. To simply sit in one in a showroom and announce that Porsche is back is ludicrous IMHO.

Unfortunately, published opinions can have a detrimental effect on car values. Note the 'avoid the 2.7L 911' and 964 'orphan' comments of Bruce Anderson that tanked those fine cars. The label MORON is appropriate here for this bloke.
