Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all - on my 01tt I have been having this problem with the windshield wipers. Under light rain they 'jurk' as they move throughout the sweep. This is not the blades skipping over the window. The whole arm is moving as if it is not tight. Both arms are doing the same thing at the same time. The dealer said they were "loose" - fixed them, and all was fine for a couple of months. But the problem is back. The strange thing is that the arms do not feel loose at all -- the car has only been back to the dealer once, and other than a interior trim squeek the car is perfect. I did a search - some talk about the wipers -- no exact match. Has anyone had this problem -- I am wondering if the gears in the motor could be the problem.

POST 2Original post

Put some rain-x on the window. If it stops , youve got a wax or or grease buildup on the glass. Tough to get rid of. Try driving in a heavy downpour for a couple of hours

POST 3Original post

There is a technical service bulletin on this. They replace the wiper arms with one with a stronger spring.

POST 4Original post
