Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It seems many people are using 285/30/19 which is off by about 3.89%.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This topic has been covered quite a bit and ive read up on it for days, but not totally satisfied with what I read. I'm about to order 19inch wheels, 11 inch wide in the back. Im having a hard time figuring out what tire to use. My stock tire is 285/30/18. It seems many people are using 285/30/19 which is off by about 3.89%.
It seems my tire choices are 275/30/19 or 305/25/19 or 315/25/19
-Will the the 275 fit fine on an 11inch wide wheel, or will it be really stretched?
-Accoridng to 1010tires.com the 305 needs an 11.5-12.5 inch wide wheel, while the 315 needs an 11-12 inch wide wheel. Why does the 305 need a wider wheel than the 315?
What tire should i get that will fit without any problems?
hmm it gave me an unrecognized tire size message on 1010tires. but thanks for letting me know its an option.. what brand of tire are you using? tirerack has nothing in that size whatsoever.
315/25/19 for me - Toyo T1 Tires
Fit is excellent - love the tires!
25 profile gets you super close to the rolling radius you need to avoid speedo issues

I'm using 315/25/19 at stock (SUV) ride height on 11.5 rims. No problems yet.. but it needs to be lowered. Go to tirerack.com and check out each tire manufacturer spec to see what rim widths they suggest.
FYI...the "proper" size tire for an 11" rim is a 305. That is the "middle" size in the range of rubber that fits. You will get your best performance, fit, and look from that size. If you can't get a 305, then go with either a 295 or 315 tire. But NOT the 275. IIRC, you can't even fit a 275 to an 11" rim in most brands. Some might.
thanks guys. the 275 is out. there are almost no choices of 305/25 or 295/25 though so im not sure what to do.
if you are running 295/30/19 your speedometer is off by 5% and you are actually using a taller sidewall than stock 18s. but its good to know you're not having any problems.
I calculated 4% circumfrence difference on my 295/30-19s. Where are you finding a 295/25 at, Tirerack doesnt even carry that size.
And no, 275 is too narrow, it will wear the outside of the tread out prematurely.
if you really want to split hairs, its a 4.74% diameter difference and a 4.967% speedometer difference.
like i said above- 295/25/19 either doesnt exist its really hard to find.
Ray - earlier this morning I was going to say that (the "I agree w/Dell" part) but I just HATE it when I have to admit I agree with him!
Hey Dell, how ya' been?
I see you come back here to go "slumming" every now and then!
Yeah, it may not be as much "fun" as it used to be but still much more so than the 997 Forum. Many (but not all) of the guys over there don't seem to have a sense or humor and seem to get their "panties in a wad" at the drop of a hat. They seem to have too much money, take themselves too seriously, and many have a "D" type personality and are, therefore, never wrong. When someone disagrees with them, they start lobbing hand grenades in all directions.
Agree with ya on the 997 board. I spent some time over there last year when I thought about a new 997. But instead I decided on the GT3 and thoroughly enjoy the conversations we have over on the GT3 forum. The 996 forum is now hit or miss. Still fun, but true, not like it was.
I'll touch and go from time to time.
Cheers,
