Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They then replaced the bose Sub with an 8" sub and replaced the 8000 with an lower end 5000 ( which according to Rick are the same acousticly, just less electronic to play with and interfear with what the system is set up to do.) .

They have a Bose upgrade with re-amp and re-crossover all the speakers and run a 10" speaker in your trunk and ported to the cabin.

I'll be out of town on and off for the next few weeks, but we should get together to compare systems (really, just an excuse to turn the stereo's up extremely loud under the guise of a "test").

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just got my car back from Rick last friday and gotta tell you.. IT'S AMAZING what that guy can do...
Everything in the car looks almost stock.
the head unit is different.
the bose sub is gone for a slightly bigger unit which now house an 8"
*I have a cab, and I did'nt want to loose the backseat.)
*did anybody know how tiny that bose sub actually look It's about 5" long and about 2.5 inch wide
loss a little depth in my already tiny trunk.
the sound clarity and the sound stage is just incredible. I can drive with the top down at 80 mph and it still sound amazing. During vocals, it sounds like the person is actually singing right in front of you on the windshield. The bass is now tight and can hit alot lower frequencys thanks to the 8" in the passenger foot well and the 10" in the trunk. It sounds just as good playing just about all type of music in my CD library.
Also had them hook up an Aux in to a plug in my center counsel to plug in my IPOD.
I understand some of you do not believe a sound system is necessary in a Porsche and I am not trying to start an argument. I just want to share my excitement.

Peter - congratulations on your new system! 10 days into my new system, I remain completely amazed at how great it sounds. It is a total game changer. I'll be out of town on and off for the next few weeks, but we should get together to compare systems (really, just an excuse to turn the stereo's up extremely loud under the guise of a "test").
Enjoy it.

Peter, where is Reus Audio located? At this point I am content with my Bose system. However, after I address a few other priorities, sound could be next on my list.
Peter - what kind of price are we talking to do what you did to a Bose installed cab? What head unit did they install? Is your C4C a new car with the Fibre optic bus or an older car (I understand that an AUX-in is tough on the newer systems)
Thanks
Jmac
Titan:
Reus is in Orange. They have a Bose upgrade with re-amp and re-crossover all the speakers and run a 10" speaker in your trunk and ported to the cabin. Never heard it so I can't comment.
The system they installed in my car is a full Reus Audio System that they basicly took out all the speaker and replace it with their own and added a 10 inch woofer in the trunk and added 2 tweeters in the rear view mirror and reamp and redid the crossover on the bose sub. I was sold after I heard a coupe that was there for an install.
I was disappointed in the bass because of my music choice. It sounded great when I play jazz, classical or pop. But it did'nt live up to my expectation when I played hip-hop or techno especially with the top down. plus all the electronics in my 8000 series head unit was going haywire. So It went back for another 2 days.
They then replaced the bose Sub with an 8" sub and replaced the 8000 with an lower end 5000 ( which according to Rick are the same acousticly, just less electronic to play with and interfear with what the system is set up to do.) . When I picked up my car, I keep on poping in different CDs of different type of music. and I could'nt wipe off the grin on my face. Jazz & Classical never sounded that sweet and the bass in Techno never sounded so clean.
If you ever think about getting an Audio system upgrade. you gotta at least go there and listen to some of the cars there. He will be at the LA auto show with a couple of cars I think.

Jmac:
I have a 2003 Cab. They installed the 5423. The Aux in is tough on the new factory headunit, but since they replaced that. there is no problems. The fiber optics did'nt comeinto play since the whole system was replace.
Price was 3900 not including the headunit.

Peter, I am an Jazz/Classical/Blue's listener with a touch of KLOS/Mark&Brian Rock...
My Bose upgrade system sounds better then I'd expected. But, nothing compared to my elaborate home system which is designed for Jazz & Classical listening. I can't imagine what a 4k unit would sound like in a car.
Next time we plan one of these meets, I am going to request an audience with your sound system. :P
Titan: That's not a problem at all. I wish you could of made it to our Cigar meet last weekend.
I have a theater/listening room at home w/ 5 Martin Logan and a sunfire sub at home and although no Car system could be like that, it could sound damn good. Martin Logan speakers are famous for their transpareness in music (the speakers disappears like it's not even there.), especially for jazz/classical. and I get that same feeling in this car system which is saying alot.
