Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
The procedure is to open the lock manually with the key and then use the fuse panel to get juice to system to allow opening the hood........then you replace the battery.

Maybe after this 'reset' it will react again with the jumper cables connected.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The last time I had a low battery and tried to start going down a hill, ( I had left it unlocked) the start didn't work.
I am locked out!! My battery must be too low to power the locks open with the both key fobs. I have tried 2 key fobs, tried the driver door key lock and the extra small key. What do I do?
Car is a 2002 Carrera.
The dealer revealed the secret to getting into the car. The door handel is drilled out and voila'. The car then gets to have a new handle installed and painted.
Which window is the cheapest to replace? Ha Ha. The last time I had a low battery and tried to start going down a hill, ( I had left it unlocked) the start didn't work. I pulled the E-trunk open and had 3' of cable in my hand. Luckily I got the engine compartment open to jump start.
wait..and call the dealer.....you don't want to damage anything before finding out if there is a simple solutions...you will bang your head against the wall if there is and you broke something.
By the way you should be able to open the door mechanically!! otherwise there is something wrong with your doorlock.
Yes, there is. It's located under the left taillight. Try to shove something in between the underside of the tailight and the bumper to enlarge the gap just a little. Then use a wire or a coathanger to fish for the emergency release cable. A flashlight will help you to see the cable. Don't scratch your paint though!
Worst case somebody has rerouted the cable already. On the other hand then it should be easier to reach as soon as you find out where in the left fender area it is.
Good luck,
Thorsten
Conventional wisdom says I should put the key inthe door and have it work. The alarm light is flasing so the battery isn't totally dead; it doesn't draw much current.
I'd kick the car but then the alarm would go off and then where would I be......

It must be a key fob issue. The alarm went off and was loud as a MF'er. Key fob when pushed flashes on the key but no response from lights on dash. Alarm has silenced but the hazards are flashing. I will now probably have a dead battery. Double F*&^%.
I am appreciating all the help.
Let it flash and leave the lid open with the engine bay light on. Battery should have dieD completely by tomorrow. Maybe after this 'reset' it will react again with the jumper cables connected.
I still can't believe that turning the key does not work (I know you have tried and you are not lying, but...). This seems absurd. Are you sure you are using the Porsche keys? They should open the door with a dead battery. The only thing I can think of is that the code got messed up some how...the only way to reset this is at the stealer.
Have to concur as well. The procedure is to open the lock manually with the key and then use the fuse panel to get juice to system to allow opening the hood........then you replace the battery.
I even tried BMW and Mercedes keys; inserting and pushing the buttons. I even tried the two handed double Porsche key whammy. The battery is pretty well charged; when the alarm goes off it is really, really loud and the lights are bright. I have done nothing to the car since the last time I drove it(other than not drive it
)Pulled into the garage, parked, locked the doors and turned out the light.
Doesn't the flashing light on the dash blink differently when the FOB is pushed? This is not happening.
This is not a good problem to have on a Sunday with lots of time on my hands and a bad case of OCD. I can't leave it alone or stop thinking about it. Can you say XANAX.
Not yet. I do recall telling others to do this, it's worth a try. I'll wait till tomorrow, with my luck I'll light the incense, close my eyes, chant and burn the garage down.
This is so sad, but I can't help but laugh (as I pray to the Porsche Gods that it never happens to me!)
So - did you burn down the garage? Did the neighbors help? Is the battery really really good and the horn is still honking??
If there is a solution - other than dynamite - please let us know.
