Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace arms' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace arms' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Was there a consensus here that the drivers side wiper no longer has the sort of "aerodynamic" attachment that came stock with the car?
I need to replace my wipers... Are the standard Bosch from the Local auto store the ones to go with?
Ross
Do we have aero attachments on our wipers? Dammit Ross, I can't recall.
Anyway, here's what I have for replacement parts: Bosch MicroEdge Excel wiper blades (#40922)
I just replaced mine with factory ones that do have the aero wing on the drivers side. The 997 I believe have the new style constant pressure blade and no aero wing?
Get the Bosch Aero wipers. Those are the best in the industry, they are more expensive but last MUCH longer, have better aerodynamics, and look awesome.
Here's a picture:
Don't pay attention to the arms, you don't have to change them.
The Bosch Aero wipers look identical to the Valeo wipers (OEM to most car companies):

Hmmn, buy one, get one free thru the end of the year.......
Yes, from the dealer I think $35? Next time though I am going with the Bosch above. Friend put them on his car and loves them. Not crazy about the style of them but I guess I will learn to like it.
How the heck to they connect to the stock arms? Indeed, if they did, I could be interested in a twin wiper as well; from experience I know they work wonderfully. (Incidentally, they don't look like they are available in the States.)
However, I really don't like the arms in that picture.
They connect the same your other wipers connect. You don't need to change your arms. The wipers have a standard connector that fits on your arm the same way any other wiper would. Hell, I even fitted them on my '86 porsche. They are really amazing wipers.
AutoZone has them, they are the standard length wipers. I don't know the sizes off hand, but you can always ask at AutoZone and they can look up the sizes on the computer.
Audi replacement blades (rubber only) are an exact match for the factory blades. Total cost at the dealer was something like $4. Sorry I don't have the part number, the parts guy is the one that figured it out. He took a set of Porsche factory replacements (rubber, metal, etc.) and compared them to the Audi rubber only replacements. Exact match. Works great.
Stop in at any AutoZone, they've got these wipers. Look 'em up in the Bosch book if you need to but it's a standard stocked item.
You don't replace the wiper arms, the blades (and the blade holder) has a standard clip type connection where it attached to the metal arm.
I also have the Bosch Micro edge and they're very good wipers.
I'm really keen to give these a shot since the blade holder (as you say) as a new design that is flatter and supposedly better than the multiple metal components of the past. Let's see if Autozone can really get them in for me.
