Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The engine mounts were replaced a couple of years ago, but the invoice shows they didn't replace the Tip mount at that time and they are original.
Leading evidence: 'Replace engine mounts' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). The fluid/filters have been changed 8,000 miles ago.

I'm thinking we replace the Tip mount because its 25 years old and the engine mounts needed to be changed.

We used this tool to replace the transmission mount:
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My 2001 Tip operates smoothly under acceleration and while driving at constant speed on fresh pavement. Down shifting with the Tip to hold speed while descending a mountain pass or when I put it into a lower gear to power through a corner produces a constant vibration when the foot is off the gas. If I had a manual, it would be like downshifting from 4 to 2 or 3, gas off to put her in the right RPM to exit the turn. The vibration is more present after the car is fully warmed up and after driving for hours.
The fluid/filters have been changed 8,000 miles ago. I've always been good at isolating things like this, but I haven't been able to lock it down. I did a test drive with my Indy and he couldn't feel it and it wasn't anywhere as strong as it has been.
The engine mounts were replaced a couple of years ago, but the invoice shows they didn't replace the Tip mount at that time and they are original. We put her in the hoist and the rubber seals are a little distorted, but far from torn up. I'm thinking we replace the Tip mount because its 25 years old and the engine mounts needed to be changed.
Any thoughts on how to confirm it is a worn mount? I tried driving around a roundabout accelerating and downshift deaccelerated like I was a crazy kid to make the issue appear to my Indy. The only thing that happened is we had fun and a few cars thought we were joyriding.
We used this tool to replace the transmission mount:
AGA Transmission Mount Tool
The tool made this a very straightforward repair.
Driving the car had very noticeable differences. Putting the transmission into Drive from Park eliminated a noticeable lurch. After the replacement there were more vibrations going on than I realized. The car feels wired and hooked up with the road. All of the deacceleration vibrations are gone.
The lingering question was why the dealer service department did not recommend to the prior owner to replace the transmission mount at the same time as the engine mounts? They clearly should have.
The Tip mount would definitely be high on my list, especially if it's original. Even if it isn't visibly torn, the rubber can get soft with age and let the drivetrain move more under engine braking than under acceleration. I'd replace it before chasing anything more expensive. At 25 years old it's due anyway, and it could easily explain why you only feel it on decel and once everything is warmed up.
