Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 3Original post

Assume the 2X8s needed for drive on clearence? Sexy F'n lift! Hydraulics electric? 110V?

POST 4Original post

Wow! I love that lift. How much and Where did you buy it?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's the mid-rise lift from Bend-Pak. Plugs into a 110 volt outlet to run the hydraulic pump. My 987S with standard suspension clears it fine without the planks. With the X73 suspension on the C4S, the car sits too low to clear the 4.75" thickness of the lift. Those 2x12 planks just barely let the car clear. I'll have to get another pair of planks to double the thickness. I had that separate garage built for the P-cars and I didn't think about a lift, otherwise I'd have had them build either a ramp for the car or a notched floor for the lift. There's about another foot to go too, but the garage door opener gets in the way. Nothing like 20/20 hindsight . Oh well.

POST 7Original post

Very nice Palting. BTW, did you ever put clear side markers on your wife's 987?

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yup, got those clear side markers for her soon after the car was broken in. Got her a helmet for DE as well. Fall of next year, I'm ordering a 997 GT3 for her, too, with roll bar and 6 point harness .

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You are the devil that made me do it, Greg . I saw your original post, and I just had to have that lift . Unfortunately, the garage had already been finished. I may still either dig out a notch like yours or build a ramp.

POST 11Original post

That's great! I would probably become way to interested in my cars underside...

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL!!! Looking up the lift does have a "voyeur appeal".

POST 13Original post

Palting, Glad you are enjoying the lift. It really is an ideal solution for most of the things we need to do. Really pretty easy to ad the recess. Let me know if you would like some more info.

POST 14Original post

OK, then the avatar is not correct, so I took the liberty of doing a little "touch up" to get ride of your wife's pumpkin "rouge" (a.k.a. orange side markers).

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, Tim. Yu da man!! OT, but I wonder whatever happened to Chad? Awesome sig he made for us, gratis too!

POST 16Original post

Palting - you are welcome. Chad sold his P-car 'cuz he couldn't fit in it with his helmit on at the track.. IIRC, he is 6' 6" tall. He bought an M3 so he could run it at the track. Yeah, he made some great sigs!
