Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Vents in place of the fog lights and headlight washer nozzle. I don't hate it... Instagram

POST 2Original post

Interesting, but what would you use the vents for? A bit high for additional brake cooling or radiators/condensers. Too far away for a cold air intake. Might be good for cooling the cabin of a track car without AC, but how would it affect aerodynamics?

POST 3Original post

Mmmhh its cool but too proud of the unique 996 headlights

Hi, I saw it on instagram. It is to direct cooling to the brakes...

The original lights are part of the character of our cars, to each his/her own items like ducktails, aftermarket wheels, these headlights, etc, but for me over time the original parts save the image and model ID. Rich

Yeah, cool the brakes, wink-wink. I think in this case it's much more about adding unique features to the car.

POST 7Original post

I'm not going to yuck anybody's yum, but as the 996 becomes the 911 outlaw / restomod platform of choice, I think the GT1 style headlights are going to be a feature not a bug.

POST 8Original post

The ultimate "outlaw", "unicorn" and "unique" headlights are the 996.2 and Turbo headlights. Quite frankly, they will end up being the hottest ticket over the next decade. Not to mention that I wouldnt be suprised if Porsche doesn't roll out a retro design 996.2 headlights for a 911 throwback model in the next 2 decades because they are so cool.

Long live the original Fried Eggs, coming out of the morning fog at Leguna Seca 👍 Rich

It's always good to stir the emotions occasionally. You're welcome.

POST 12Original post

Just saw this on Instagram too. I love them and hope we will be able to purchase them soon

POST 13Original post

Is this real? I would expect sharper edges between the black and the actual lens. Here is a pick of my headlight - much sharper and distinct: The only 996.2 aftermarket option I have never liked for a variety of reasons including expected LED failure and just overall appearance. The presented real or mockup are definitely an improvement, although I think there should be a fog light option instead of the vent.
