on a previous tread I asked if I could add Mobile 1 5w-50 to the Aral *SuperTronic* 0w-40 that Porsche Zentrum Frankfurt filled my motor with when they preformed a 24 month inspection/maintenance.

on a previous tread I asked if I could add Mobile 1 5w-50 to the Aral *SuperTronic* 0w-40 that Porsche Zentrum Frankfurt filled my motor with when they preformed a 24 month inspection/maintenance. not receiving a satisfactory answer after having searched the web for information, I bought a 1 liter bottle of Aral SuperTronic 0w-40 synthetic oil for 22 euros.. 22 euros! my question is, I can by a liter of quality single malt scotch or name brand vodka for less than 22 euros per liter... Will Absolute or Glen Whatever provide the same lubrication benefits? I figure I can drink whatever is left in the bottle, and if there's a party, I can drain the 966 for a pint if necessary.

I wouldn't use single malt, I would suggest a blend. Absolut is crap, try going with Grey Goose or Kettle One, and whatever you do don't use red wine, even a nice Brunello will get gummy. Good luck, and let us know how it works!

Both have passed over my tongue in only one direction pleasantly. *Absolut is crap, try going with Grey Goose or Kettle One,* Those are American brands that are taxed skyyy high here. * and whatever you do don't use red wine, even a nice Brunello will get gummy.* I would never subject the Porsche to the fine Spanich reds and I would never subject the fine Tenerife reds to the Porsche. There is a balance in things, and red wine needs to breath...

Try Johnny Walker Blue, not the gold or black, terrible. If you have to use Absolut, try Absolut Citron. I agree about using a nice Rioja, but it's best to avoid all reds.
