Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, since it's legal here in Texas (CHL), I thought I would put my useless Owners Manual shelf to good use..............

POST 4Original post

i still can't imagine carrying a piece. road rage gone bad into shoot out...

POST 6Original post

LOL, do you actually drive around with the gun like that? It looks like it could fall out and go off.

POST 8Original post

lol..alright man..upto you..i wonder how that would go over during a traffic stop tho the approaching officer might be a little..er..edgy if he saw that

POST 9Original post

I'd be afraid of a smash & grab. I keep my handgun out of sight.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I also wear a holster when I go out, so it goes with me at all times.

POST 11Original post

Holster? Come on! You're from Texas -- get a gun rack!

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Actually, I'm from California. I keep the heavy stuff in my wagon ( 870 P with pistol grip).

POST 13Original post

Is it really that bad to carry a piece with you all the time??

POST 15Original post

Yeah come to think of it, no wounder they have the death penalty!!

POST 16Original post

The guy who was recently shot at a traffic light in Orlando probably wished he was armed. "better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it"

POST 17Original post

^ i suppose. but would he have been able to get to it fast enuff before being shot in the head. The attacker would have the advantage of surprise and also probably of already having drawn his weapon. having said that..if ur allowed by law to carry a gun, and arn't some crazy nut whose gonna accidentally blow away a girl guide for "trespassing" or somethin..yeah i say go for it.

POST 18Original post

Yet another reason for me to NEVER go back to Texas. More idiots with guns in cars is what we really need here in Caifornia.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am originally from Los Angeles (law enforcement). It's just second nature for me to carry a firearm. It's accessible to me in the car and I take it with me when I leave the car.

POST 20Original post

Texas can be a funny place! They'll threaten to put a beautiful 25 yr old woman in jail for a private matter with an 18 yr old student, but you can play Wyatt Earp all you want! Of course my home state of Florida might be worse! "better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" Of course, this assumes the mental stability and judgement of the one that has it.

POST 21Original post

So lets say you walk in a store or anywhere in public, people don't freak out to see a civilian with a firearm. When you wear a jacket, I assume you're able to hide it but what happens when your wear flipflops, shorts and a t-shirt? Sorry to be so ignorant!!

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I don't wear flip flops and all of my tee shirts and shirts are large size. It's not a big gun (Beretta 84B, 14 shot). You can't see under my clothes in the holster and it also fits in my back pocket.

POST 23Original post

What do you do when you try to enter a place that restricts guns? Plenty of places here (Houston) have signs.

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If the establishment has restrictions, I don't go in - I never leave a firearm unattended.

POST 25Original post

This was my gun rack when I lived in Georgia. I figured if all the rednecks have gun racks in their truck why shouldn't I have one too.... In case you are wondering, not that's not a MP5. Just a HK94 with a fake silicencer tube, but I do have a total of 5 hard to find 30 round magazines loaded to 28 rounds to the brim. Total of 140 round ready to rock....

POST 26Original post

OK I can see a former law enforcement officer having a weapon (note it is not a gun) but I would not recommend anyone carrying a weapon who is not trained to use it and is not willing to shoot and kill someone with it. Although I would hope no one would ever have to shoot someone if you are not willing to use it or have second thoughts you may lose it and it would then be used against you. Not many people despite what they may think will draw and fire a weapon with the notable exceptions being trained police and military. As far as carrying an HK I would say that is fine if you are going to the range or you are an active member of a SWAT type of team otherwise I am sorry to say that is way over the top not to mention it would take you too much time to reach around and get your weapon out, loaded and charged. Having driven on the streets in Iraq in the past I would take a weapon otherwise I personally pass.

POST 27Original post

Rountreed, Take it easy, most of us is just playing around with the picture post, don't be so serious. I don't really carry my submachine gun in my car like that, in matter of fact I sold that gun long time ago. But on a serious note, as you know there are many states in the US that allows a CCW (Conceal Carry Weapon) permit. When I lived in Miami I had one which allowed me to legally carry a firearm on me at all times. Purpose of this is for self protection, unfortunately when you drive around in a p-car you do get a lot of unwanted attention and there are just too many rob and silence style of killing around for private citizens not to protect themselves. FWIW, I have had plenty of firearm traning to familiarize myself with various firearm function and safety. Of all the years of gun ownership I never had to draw a firearm or even had a remote reason for using it. As all of the firearm training would tell you that you only draw your weapon to use it to protect yourself from a life threatening situation, not to scare anyone or to settle an argument Which I wish to remain that way, but better to be safe than to be sorry.

POST 28Original post

Oh man, this is a scream. That first picture with the gun in the dash "holster" is a classic - only in Texas. I'm still cracking up with the machine gun in the back seat too.

POST 29Original post

You got the drift. That's what it was all about.

POST 30 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

FINALLY.........2 people get the post!

POST 31Original post

Hence the name....."concealed" handgun permit.....the weapon is to be kept out of sight. Good idea Porsche-T......I didnt think of using that shelf for that purpose.

POST 33Original post

Hey it looks like Porsche people like duck hunting too...LOL.... Keep a Glock in mine...same place...no it does not slide out....but I almost forgot to pull it once for a DE...man that would ahve been a good one for the Tech inspection...LOL

POST 34Original post

Contact me for more info. I can organize a group buy. Discount for PCA and NRA members.

POST 35Original post

LOL i'm from texas, now in georgia (not a huge change, eh? ) and i'm loving the gun posts! porsche-t: if i recall correctly, most public places prohibit concealed carry weapons (malls, stadiums, etc.) ie, the places where i'd MOST want to be carrying one. how much does a CHL impair you from getting around town?

POST 36 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I usually only carry when I'm in the P-car (low-life factor). If I have to go to a mall, I drive my wagon. Most places have signs that say "the illegal carrying of firearms (non-licensed) is prohibited". You are not allowed to carry at sporting events, race tracks, bars, restaurants that derive 51% of their income from liquor sales, church, polling places, county buildings and places where the business employer has postings for no firearms or weapons. Although the church regulation is out of line - When I feel the spirit I like to shout out "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition".

POST 37Original post

Hey Programmatore - I sent your pic to one of our reps in Austin, and he said you're missing high-mount halogens for night shooting. God bless Texas.

POST 38Original post

Nice, I am thinking of an electronic safe/stash spot installed

POST 39Original post

Yeah, I often get asked by passengers, "what is that for". I say it's a handgun holster.

POST 40Original post

heh... bmw has an optional REAL gun rack storage for my 7er: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...40&hg=51&fg=35 i need to order it from europe (not available in NA)

POST 41Original post

re.... must resist ..... rrreeeddd ... must stop ... AAGGH !!! red neck red neck red neck red neck .... whew ... sorry ! Where's me handy shotgun and me pickup !?

POST 42 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Why is it that people ASSUME you are a redneck if you live in Texas? If you go back a couple of posts, you will see that I lived in the same "redneck" state as you for 35 years, drive the same car and ride the same type of motorcycle. Hmmm....

POST 43Original post

LMAO........Yep, I am born & raised in Texas & I CAN'T STAND Country & Western music........... Although I do wear boots ALL the time & have owned horses in the past...lol

POST 44Original post

Going back to the original photo in this thread, where can I get the under the dash slot? My C4S doesn't have one.

POST 45Original post

where are you located? you can have mine as soon as i figure out what kind of screw is holding it in to take it out.

POST 46Original post

I am technically a Montana resident. I live in MT & AZ. I got pulled over once in MT and had my Kimber .45 in plain view in my Suburban. The cop commented on the nice piece and asked if he could look at it. Life outside the big city is very different.

POST 47Original post

There aren't screws holding the shelf on, just some type of expansion tabs. Pull down on it real hard and it will come off.

POST 49Original post

so jealous...if wussy canada ever allows CCW i will be sporting my springfield A1 loaded .45acp in olive drab

POST 50Original post

I d never leave home without it esp in the P car at night with the top down. This gun was good enough for Bond so Its good enuff for me.

POST 51Original post

hmm... how can i tell you this without breaking your heart... ok, i'll just come out and say it: you are not james bond. oh.. and isn't he a fictional character? its very different when things blow up and people die in movies vs. real life.

POST 53Original post

You guys must live or work in very dangerous areas, I don't ever think of keeping my side arm with me when I drive, but then again I live in a small town called Philadelphia, PA where the crime rate is low.

POST 54Original post

But Sir, I didnt say I was James Bond, did I? I live in the great Bush State of Florida where all good honest citizens have the right to carry a concealed weapon as allowed by the secound amendment. My wife and I chose to exercise those rights and carry a concealed when we leave our home. Dont get on your pulpit and try to tell me I am doing something wrong. Thanks JB

POST 55Original post

You're joking, right? You don't spend much time in Kensington, Olney, Bridge & Pratt, near UoP, Fishtown, Powelton Villiage, etc. etc. etc. You're probably better off not carrying anyway, the Philly cops are likely to shoot first and ask questions later.

POST 56Original post

Just curious-- For those of you p-car owners that feel the need to stay 'strapped', how many incidents have you encountered where you actually needed a gun? Or do you carry to avoid any future potential incidents?

POST 57Original post

I carry a Mossburg 590 12 gauge in the back of my 944. I used it once to shoot a deer that I hit with the porsche at 1 AM. I have yet to use the buckshot on a thug. I have a Glock 9mm that I carry on me at most times.

POST 58Original post

In this case I always felt that it is much better to have it & not need it, than it is to need it & not have it! No, I personally have never been in a situation when a gun was needed. Hopefully I never will!

POST 59Original post

Now I know what to do with the owners maual slot, that is fantastic, thanks. I hope my Glock 21 will fit. The negative comments regarding CC do not address the fact that bad things can happen to good people. If we were to ask criminals which would you preffer: to have the general public armed with concealed weapons or would you like a system closer to England / Canada, what do you think the bad guys response would be. Folks it is simple you have to decide, are you going to try and protect yourself or are you going to ask somebody to do it for you. See you at the range.

POST 60Original post

Wow what a different world it is out there. Even in the owners manual slot like that would probably land you in night in jail. The only people who can really "carry" in Jersey are those with CCW, and you don't get CCW without being a cop, or having been a cop. Anyone else, basically, don't bother. That includes out of state cops.

POST 61Original post

Slightly off subject, but could someone recommend a good place to get a nice fitting (and concealing) shoulder holster? I have a 9mm Beretta with a nice waistband holster (great for when I was on my bike), but I'd like to get something different for use in the car.

POST 62 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheaperthandirt.com - look at Bianchi holsters.

POST 63Original post

Just google "shoulder holsters" and there will be an abudance. Anyone have a G30? I am buying one in July at the next gunshow. Its a 10+1 .45 cal and very reliable. The S&W M&P .40 is great but not good for CW. When the time arises the G30 should be very adequate to protect my families life. Since CCWs have been issued to citizens of Fl, Rapes and Batteries are down. We have the Castle Amendment here also (thanks Mr Bush) meaning, we do not have to retreat. We can do what it takes if we are in a threatening situation. No more hiding from the BG and running away. Fl is the place to live!!! Cabby
