I am telling you that the sound changes over time, and it is incredible.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The cost of the tubi is just way too high. Go get the PSE its factory and cost less. You wont get much HP from an exhuast so save some money and get a factory part. If you're just putting in mufflers its an easy DIY job that will take about 1-1 1/2 hours. You can pretty much have any mechanic shop do it its that easy. The electronic on a PSE is something you would want a good Porsche shop to do, but the mufflers are easy.
I drove a car with PSE, and I felt like most of the noise was on the inside because it was not that loud when standing outside of the car, but I could really hear it while driving the car.
I am going to try to record the sound of my well-broken-in PSE exhaust for you guys. I am telling you that the sound changes over time, and it is incredible. I will take one recording with the mic inside, and one with it outside.
The damned thing nearly gets me in trouble all the time, particularly when I drive under traffic circles or under the Whitehurst Freeway on my way to work. How can you not accelerate just to hear that music!
Never having heard a Tubi, I can't tell you to NOT to get it. Having PSE, however, I can tell you to get the PSE. Perfect for hearing yourself at the track to gauge upshifts and rev matching. Perfect for late night drive's in you neighborhood, just make sure your right foot is set only to "cruise"

Zookie, you have to be careful comparing/expecting the same sound with two different Porsches. 996 and Cayman exhausts are totally different.
I have a good video in my HD at home of a crazy German blasting around in a C4S with PSE while his GF took vids while standing at the roadside. But, I'm at work right now. Here's a passable replacement for now. Just listem to the first few minutes, then forget the rest. My video equipment is strictly amateur, and the PSE is drowned by the air on the vieo. In real life, the exhaust dominates, as it does in the beginning of the video:
PSE
x3. I enjoy the sound of the PSE every time I am in the car. Did the electronics to take up one of the blank switches on the dash. That took some time but not impossible.
Heh-heh. Wait 'til you hear this one. You'll want to look for tunnels. As promised, here's the crazy German and his 996 C4S with PSE:
TURN UP THE VOLUME
Palting - yea, I remember that clip from a while back. It is a great clip, with great sound. I love the part in the middle where he is coming from the right and you can hear the sound of the exhaust bouncing off the hills in the distance.
I wonder how muck Brandywine wants for a PSE and switch and install. Considering all I hear is the gains from sport exhausts are slim and headers are not even worth the effort. I recently read on the incredible rennlist that a chip is not worth the money for it's low performance gains. From this thread I think I'm aiming for the PSE.
I have the Tubi exhaust and i rode in a car the other day with PSE and headers...
the cars have 2 different sounds. The PSE was VERY refined and awesome sounding. Mine is refined as well as more gnarly...
I dont know how much the headers compunded the situation but basically, i could live with either.
The benefit of the Tubi over the PSE is that there is a tremendous weight savings.

Optimization of the nut behind the wheel. This modification can be costly in terms of time and money, but the rewards can last a lifetime and are ultimately more rewarding. Better yet, they are fully transferable and do not have to be sold or traded with the car itself. Try it.
Thats true, but the fact is that the Tubi Quality is by far the Best and you get what you pay for and i like to the Idea of Less Weight and Some kind of HP Gain compare to the PSE.
I called brandywine out of stock should have some in a couple of days.1499.00 no tax with switch.2hrs to install without switch 4hrs with.95.oo per hour around 400.00.also called suncost 1803.00.Carlson porsche 1995.oo 9hrs to install 150.00 per hour.
I don't know. I come and go from my house at all hours of the night. Part of the job. PSE is open all the time. If you cruise at @2000 rpm in 2nd or 3rd gear depending on the street, it's just a low rumble. Not at all obtrusive nor un-neighborly. No barking dogs though almost all homes here have dogs, no flying boots nor fish
.
TD, do you have a noise ordinance in your neighborhood?
No, but I live in Georgetown, which is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the district. It is full of brick townhouses and houses so the sounds just echoes and reverberates. It is very, very loud if I get on the car. When i see the police, if I do not have the PSE on quiet mode, I get nasty looks and I can almost see the finger going for the siren. On quiet mode, I just get an appreciative nod . . .
