I have seen a variety of quad exhaust tips that look pretty cool. I understand Porsche makes some for my 03 cab that are about $900 for the pair. What do you folks suggest?
I found the $900 asking price a bit, um, ridiculous even for Porsche so I went to ebay where I found a new pair for about $250. The seller was '5th-gear' and looks like he's still selling 'em. I've had mine for about a year now and they look pretty good and have held up very well. Here are a couple of closeup pictures, sorry I don't have anything better:

However, if you have the factory exhaust - they won't fit
as you'll need tips with those stand-off or down-pipes (not sure what to call 'em).

Those do look good. Is 5th gear selling genuine Porsche parts or another brand? Do you have contact info for them, I couldn't locate them on ebay. I was under the impression that on an 03 with factory exhaust, these fit right on.
OJ - Thanks! Stock exhaust (not PSE). As for the exhaust tips, they were on the car when I bought the car. They were a factory option (X54) and were ordered by the original owner.

Those pipes look great. Do you have any close up side shots? I have seen some pipes that look good from the back but from the side you can tell that they are just bult ons. Do these pipes look good all the way back? Also, are they chrome or stainless steel?
I don't have any really good pics of the tips from the side, but here are two that show the exactly what you are takling about. The first pic looks like the tips go all the way back. But the second pic, taken from a lower angle than the first pic, shows that the tips don't go all the way back. There is a reason for this.
If you look at the 3rd pic, which is hte left muffler with the tips installed, the pipe that the tips are bolted to goes up (right in the pic) at almost a 90 degree angle from the tips. That is why they can't extend much farther under the car than they do. Hope this helps.
The description for the X54 option states that they are "Oval Chrome Exhaust Pipes."
